  I think the best hotel in all over Trincomalee.

  WARNING! This place has nothing to do with Veganism!
  After many days eating local rice and curry, we wete looking forward to eating a different real vegan meal in a vegan restaurant. Upon arrival the menu did not have a single vegan dish on it. Meat, fish, cream We asked for a vegan meal and they looked surprised until one of the staff said they had 2 kitchens. Asking for the other, vegan menu, we were given the same menu again. They just use the word Vegan to lure people.

  Nice cabanas, friendly staff but a thief's going around
  
  We've stayed for four nights. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. I especially liked the night They are still working and improving the night watchman. If you're into fishing he' the man. Cool guy!
  
  The cabanas were nice, food alright and the off-season prices reasonable. You have direct access to the beach front which is a bit scruffy like the whole beach until Nilaveli. We walked all along til Nilaveli Beach Resort and haven't found a much better place. They said that they will clean it more often during high season. Anyway, Uppaveli is a good place with shops and neat breakfast, lunch and dinner options close by. Check out "Rice & Curry" and the "Café on the 18th". It's a short Tuk Tuk drive for Rs. 100 – 200.
  
  Apart from the fact, that there's also a thief hanging around, we enjoyed our stay in one of the front cabanas. In our case, my pants were snitched wheareas other guest reported that they miss 60 Euros. A pity and we hope they'll catch him soon. Good luck!

  Very nice place withe good and polite staff. Wort for the money. Particularly the chef who is really good on making local food.
