Perhaps the most professional customer service I've ever received. I made an enquiry on the website about having a bottle of wine delivered to my girlfriends table during dinner. It was immediately picked up by Shawn, who gave me a list of wines to choose from and an order form. Within an hour I had a bottle of wine delivered to my girlfriends table with a personalised note attached. Made her entire holiday and has restored my faith in humanity. When I go to Sri Lanka next I'll be giving you my business. Many thanks Shawn and the rest of your fantastic staff.

From the moment we got there you can tell this has a special edge to it. We were greeted warmly, with a very smooth check in, a cool towel and a drink. The staff are brilliant and look after you in every way. This is definitely a luxury hotel. Expect to pay more than Sri Lanka's usual prices for food and drink but you are in serenity so it is worth it.

Nice and quaint boutique hotel on the lake with a nice swimming pool. Room was mostly clean but could have been cleaner. We had tonnes of bugs and flies and insects nesting in the ceiling above our bed and every once in a while the bugs would fall/land on our bed and we'd have to swipe them away. Buffet selection was so-so. They should cover all the food as it was out in the open with flies all around.

There is nothing that isn't great about Thaulle. The staff, the rooms, the food, the pool. We got an upgrade as we were there in a quiet period, and had great views over the lake. At night the staff put the tables of the restaurant outside so we could have dinner under the starry sky. We had an amazing stay here and highly recommend visiting!

Stayed at Thaulle for 3 nights in November during our 21 day tour of SL, and it was a very restful stay.
The food and service were excellent, but the bar was not always manned, which was sometimes inconvenient.
The TV in our room was positioned in such a way that you couldn't watch it from the bed, which was quite disappointing as it rained the whole time while we were there and it would have been nice to watch TV in bed.
We can also recommend the Ayurvedic massages, which were very soothing.
A great place to use as a base to visit the neighbouring national parks!response / report this review -

Amazing views and extremely friendly staff. Very attentive. Great food and beautiful traditional decor. Great for those who want to unwind and find peace from the hustle and bustle. Mainly tailored to ayurveda treatments / retreats.

10 on service for sure. It's a bit secluded. A very nice romantic restaurant. Clean and large very nice rooms. The bathroom is almost as big as the sleeping quarters

Fantastic staff and food. Room was very nice and we had a great view over Yoda lake. The hotel arranged a safari to Yala national park and the guide was excellent.

Very enjoyable. A smaller resort. Friendly staff and good food. We had a standard room which was a bit tight, but that was out choice.

Just had a dinner here, the buffé was nice with a good selection of currys. The international food wasn't super, but the local food was great. Nice seating in the back yard under the stars and accompanied by a band.
