Nice place to visit, enjoyed, we can understand some history of srilanka, there was a custom office located, its a place where 2 lands were connected from srilanka to india via very shallow Park Bay its started at this location, ferry service started on 1914 from thalai mannar to Danush kodi, Rameswaram , untill 1982 it has been running after that it was stop due to ethnic issue faced by Sri Lanka, The ferry service was part of the Indo-Lanka Railway service

Really nice place to take photos. You can't walk on the pier as it's not in a very good condition but you can have a very nice view from its gates too

A nice place. In a way one end of Sri Lanka. The road towards this place is having typical Jafna country side. However, it's bit difficult to find a good place for food. Further if anyone visiting and running by a vehicle which use 95 Octane and supper diesel, don't think of pumping at Talaimannar. You have places where you can buy dry-fish too
The bridge is really old. No repair work has done. It's really sad to see the way these places a just abundant. If these places are properly maintained, these could have being a high tourist attractive places.

Another amazing tourist destination in Srilanka. It has developed a lot from my last visit. Big roads, warm conditions, good people. Best place to buy Dried Fish in Srilanka.

An interesting journey here: landscape, stopping at the toddy bars along the way, and pondering what Talaimannar Pier once was - worth stopping at as a point on a journey, but for the majority, not as the purpose of the journey.

We were not allowed to walk in the pier(The old railway line). It was said that it's all broken and not safe to go in it. Waste of time travelling all alone to see talaimannar pier. Also can't go to Adam's bridge through a boat ride. Everthing has changed in accordance with time.

A place of geographical and historic importance as this is the closest point to india and the famous ferry to india started from here. But now the pier is closed due to its dilapilated state. Very hot.

When i visit there Railway station is under development. Navy didn't allow us to walk through the rail track which is in the sea. Lighthouse also there with nice view.
