A free boat services are given by the RDA at 10.30am and 4.30pm from kurikattuvan. Inside the island a mini van (dimo batta) where 10 people can travel cost you 3000rupees. They will show the full area you want to see inside the island. The island consists of Dutch building as well.

I found the visit to Delft Island very nice. Even though there is not a very special thing to see, it breathes history. A former Dutch fort that is now in ruins. Destroyed stupas, destroyed by Portuguese colonialists. A nice and small local market. And wild (Dutch) horses. I do recommend taking a guide. If you don’t know what you are looking at, then it’s not that interesting. The surroundings where very nice and different as well, and not a lot of tourists.
