Mannar Island it the biggest island in Sri Lanka. It’s situated in Mannar District, Nothern Province. It is linked to main island by causeway. This part of the Sri Lanka has semi arid conditions so the island is mainly covered with sand and vegetation which mainly include thorny bushes and shrubs. And there’s chain of limestone shoals, between India and Mannar Island that geological evidence suggests it’s the former land connection between India and Sri Lanka.

Its the longest island in srilanka.
Its located north west cost of srilanka.
An in northearn province mannar district.
My home town and its 30 km long east to west.
5 to 7 km long north to south.
The district town mannar also located in this island's east end.
    We can see donkies.
Donkies are living without human interups.
The most donkies are live in arround town.
Then the dutch fort and their bridge also in the town.
The island connected to mainland with a causeway lenth about 4km at thaladi.
The causeway area is the part of vankalai sanctuary.
You can see seasonal migrant birds at november to april.
Thalaimannar also located at west cost.
And pesalai fathima church, pallimunai biobap tree, keeri beach, light house, are in this island.
Its connected with jaffna by A32 highway.
    With madawachi by A14.

Nice island with lots of donkeys and seafood. One of the most scenic sunsets can be seen from the west coast of the island.
