What a find. Sudu and his family live in the house behind the beach hut and couldn't be sweeter helping you with anything you need. The hut is right on the beach and we were created by 5 turtles that swam directly in front of the hut every evening from 4pm . You can easily walk to the next beach where you will find more restaurants and better swimming (5min walk)

Sudu's Surfing Cabbana is a great place to stay! It is set directly on a beautiful beach with wild waves, many turtles and few tourists. The cabbana and the garden is built and decorated with lots of love; it's not luxury but we had everything we needed. At night, the waves can be a little bit loud (but probably it was extreme during our stay due to the storm on the ocean that caused high surf). Sudu's family lives in the house behind the cabbana., they were always there to help us. Sudu came by for a chat one day, a very friendly host And there is Fifi - a great dog which likes to protect the guests and hang out with them from time to time. All in all, a very nice experience!

A relaxing beautiful place with front view of a nice beach and close to a uncrowned surf spot.
The family that runs the place make you feel at home and if they offer to cook a dinner for you, say yes!
We started our vacation here and had to finish it at the same place to leave Sri Lanka with the perfect feeling.response / report this review -

Amazing does not begin to describe it. If you want to experience the real Sri Lanka this is the place for you. The family is beyond helpful and friendly, the breakfast and the dinner cooked by the mom is some of the most delicious (and best priced) you'll get in the area. The cabana is on the beach and just a very short ride from the touristy unawatuna beach, opt maybe for the beach at wijaya, where Sudu works (a five minute walk away) to swim with sea turtles and enjoy the amazing, chilled out restaraunt there. Otherwise just enjoy the sound of the ocean and the view of palms, sea turtles, and stilt fishermen from the cabana. This place is paradise! Cannot say enough good things about Sudu's place and his family.

Excellent location, brilliant facilities and an amazing host. The food was the best I ate in Sri Lanka, the cottage was amazing and Sudu and his family were so lovely. I highly recommend staying here!!
