Reasonable prices.
Manager was accommodating even suggested other places to eat and things to do at night.
Wasn't aware if any Wi-Fi was available .
Rooms with fan only are very hot.
Right on the beach.
Beach chairs available.
Breakfast was okay.
Dinner was yummy.
Offered a driver for a very nice rate, driver was very accommodating and even stopped for us to see a turtle hatchery.response / report this review -

The owner of this place is rude and aggressive and physically started pushing me out of the restaurant along with raising his voice just because I walked in from the beach to access the main road. He clearly has zero respect for women and no manners. Strongly recommend to avoid this man and his establishment

We booked Jan 6-14, 2018. but only stayed for three nights. First chance given we left. This place is horrible!
Of course there was no chance to get the money back! It was 65$ per night and totally not worth the price!!
Unfortunately there are only a few good things to say about Banana Garden:
- Hot water was working
- Location is directly at the beach
- There was a refrigerator in the room
And here comes the not so nice stuff:
- We had booked eight nights and they wanted us to pay the whole amount upon arrival. This is something that never happened to me and it gave me a very bad feeling as you usually always pay iafter you received the service. I started thinking: they must have made many experiences with unsatisfied customers who wanted their money back long discussions. No room for negotiation although I offered to pay half the price upon arrival and the other half on check out. And suddenly they started getting rude
- They wanted us to pay cash. Credit card fees would have been 5% instead of usually 3% so we had to go find an ATM. They even didn’t want to allow us to leave our luggage in the room and started pushing.
- The room I booked should have been 25qm. But it was not more than 13qm. They will sell you a 25 qm room as the 40 qm room. They do not have larger rooms than 25qm
- You can hear the busy road behind the hotel
- The towels were pretty old. At home you wouldn’t use them anymore.
- There was only one power socket in the room that was working - the one in the bathroom
- pillows and bed have a bad mold smell
- The shower only had one door so you could only close it half way. The drain didn’t work. After two minutes I was standing in the water up to my ankles. Plus the shower tub was not connected to any draining system. There was a hole in the shower tub and one in one corner of the bathroom where the water from the shower could drain. Half of the bathroom floor was flooded with water from the shower :(plus it smells pretty bad)
- Cockroaches in the bathroom
- No mosquito net as in the booking.
- No safe in the room as in the booking
- No closet as in the booking
- No sitting area as in the booking
- Sunbeds are old and shady
- No sun umbrellas at the beach
- Restaurant service is really slow. We waited 45-70 minutes for our orders. They somehow can only do one order after the other
- Food is not good. They use old fat to fry everything.
- Glasses and dishes are always dirty
- You can smell in your room when they start cooking :(
- All this for 65$ per night!
So right afrer we checked in we asked for a bigger room at least. Although the bigger (25qm) room next door was available from the the next day, he was stalling us by saying that he would talk to the manager. Two days after the room was available they told us they have a booking for that room for 25 nights. I just could not believe it!
I wanted to talk to the manager about all the above mentioned but the guy in the hotel who was responsible always stalled us. I never got to see and talk to the manager.response / report this review -

Great location direct on the beach, but nothing else. The room was humid and dirty. Wifi only available in restaurant area.

I do not recommend this hotel to anyone due to below mentioned reasons
* We booked two double rooms and upon arrival they refused to provide the desired rooms and we had no choice but to fit in to a triple room
* All service personel are rude and do not respect your privacy at all. They keep asking you inappropriate questions.
* Food was terrible.
* Cleanliness was at minimal standards.
* Too much inappropriate dodgy suggestions from the staff.

Я конечно все понимаю, но обманывать это плохо. Мы проезжали мимо на скутерах, пошел дождь и мы решили переждать в этом "замечательном" заведении. Для приличия взяли по чашке чая. В меню стоимость чашки чая указана 150 местных "зайчиков" т.е. рупий. За четверых это 600 плюс как полагается чаевые за обслуживание. Нам посчитали 1400 рупий. На вопрос почему так? официантка, которая только что прекрасно с нами общалась на ломаном английском сразу перестала все понимать и позвала какогото мужика. Этот месный посмотрел на наши лица. И просто сказал что это ошибка. Вот так просто ошибка в два раза. Такие заведения только портят прекрасное впечатление от Шри ланки.
