Great hotel by the shores of Hikka. Hospitable staff provides an efficient service. Excellent pool area which is ideal and safe for children to play around. Rooms are equipped with all the modern facilities and also provides a magnificent view of the ocean. I have visited here a few times and food has been great except for ones.

28/12/2017 - The hotel was facilitating 2 weddings on the same day and the lunch buffet was not up to the standards at all. Spread was minimal and the items were so low in quality taste. This was the worst buffet I've ever had in a hotel of cinnamon chain.

However I'd still provide a good rating due to the experiences I've had before. But I strongly believe that the management should ensure situations like what I explained above does not occur under any circumstances.

Great location. Good rooms, shower. Giant turtles come to beach every day. Great beach, snorkeling reef just in front of hotel. Would come again.

Not the worst hotel I’ve stayed in but there is room for improvement. The rooms were not cleaned well, there were insects all over our bathroom and coffee/tea amenities.
The staff are polite and accommodating. Water from my grandparents’ shower was leaking into their bedroom and there were a few issues with our room, but once we alerted management they tried to make our stay as pleasant as possible, giving us complimentary food and seating us at tables facing the ocean.

Elegant place with good views of sea. Have a good swimming pool. Deep is around 5ft. Separated baby pool also there. Their foods are awesome. You can get boat from them and have boat ride while watching corals. Specially its very romantic in the evening. Generally a crowded hotel.

Hikka Tranz is a great place for vacations, events, weddings and many more. Their service is excellent. They have great variety of food for you taste. They have good rooms with great views and room service is also excellent. You can have a sea bath also as the hotel is situated near the Hikkaduwa Beach. I recommend this five star hotel to any visitor as this is an Amazing place.

Love this place. Friendly accomodating staff. Beautiful setting. Fantastic food. Seafood restaurant is 5 star. All inclusive is a really good deal. We have not bothered to go outside as we want to relax and we most certainly have relaxed.
The room is clean and comfortable. Excellent air con and a dehumidifier. Balcony view from 4th floor is fabulous.
Other reviews mention tired decor in rooms. This is true but they are CLEAN. We are not fussy about the room as it is only a place to sleep and shower in.
We most certainly will be coming back here again.

Common areas of the hotel were good however the rooms seemed to have some damp. This wasn't just one room but several as there was a group of 16 of us staying there.

Bar and pool were good but lack of vegetarian options in the lunch menu. Beach was nice and easy to get to.

Greta hotel although a bit expensive. The rooms are expansive and cozy, the architecture is contemporary, and the food is quite good. During our stay overnight, we experienced the lunch, dinner and breakfast buffets, of which the breakfast buffet was the best. The pool is quite expansive and heated at night. The beach area in front of the hotel is frequented by giant green Turtles and quite interesting as it incorporates part of the reef as well.

Great hotel with a few let downs. Could easily go to 5 stars. I was going to give them 4 stars, but I think that would encourage them not to improve and there's quite a lot of room for improvement.
The hotel is on the pricey side so you should expect a lot from it.
    Pros:
    - All rooms face the sea, so you get some gorgeous views.
    - Decent swimming pool
    - Adjacent to the beach, turtles come here to feed
    - Good size TV, clean rooms, comfortable bed, great bathroom
    - Wide selection for breakfast buffet, foods from different countries and it's all prepared to a good standard, not amazing but more than acceptable and amazing choice. TIP: if you wake up later, the last half an hour of breakfast have most tables available, so you'll be able to get the first table facing the sea easily.

    Cons:
    - Small ants - the hotel is riddled with small ants all over the place. You cannot leave a single piece of food laying around. They even got into the fridge where I kept a chocolate. Sometimes they appear in the sink. I tipped the housekeeper to get it sorted out and he got somebody to spray around the problem was greatly reduced but they need to solve this, not just mask it. I didn't feel comfortable eating anything inside the room. If ants hadn't appeared, this would easily be a 4 star review.
    - Crows - the hotel has loads of crows (interesting fact: a group of crows are called "murder"). They get onto the terrace and all over. I'm not sure how much the hotel can do about it and this really isn't a major issue but it is one of them. Last day, I found a huge cockroach dead on the terrace.
    - The room has a humidifier. If it's on, it gets cold so you have to turn it off during the night. Then it gets humid so you sweat a little bit during the night. The humidifier is also noisy so you really have to turn it off when going to bed.
    - The room has small things that need fixing, the blinds were half broken, so they stitched them up with a pin instead of fully repairing them. The lock on the terrace door was hard to work. These and other small bits are something that an expensive 4 star hotel really should not have.
    - The staff English is not good at all.
    - Baggage storage - if you check out but need to leave the bags somewhere, they have storage, completely unlocked and unsupervised, which is ridiculous to avoid all responsibility.
    - You get no supervision feel. It seems as if the staff are unsupervised and room uninspected, there's no central figure feel who is responsible for fixing these every day issues.
