Please try to avoid this rent company!
Please be aware that “economy” car doesn’t mean the size and the brand, as in the rest of the world, but literally mean the quality of the car.
The office is not in the airport, it takes 20-25 to drive. They arrange the meeting, but you need to wait for the pickup.
The kindness of the staff ends just after you pay and drive away.

I rented a car for 13 days and was expecting it to diу every day!
And when I was in middle of the sri-lanka island the car broke. I tried to get help from the company but didn’t get it.
I had to find the car repair service my self, and this to be very challenging, as there is NO normal car repair service!
I found a guy who repaired my car.
When I told the car rent office they said “great”!
When I brought the car back to the renting office they refused to compensate the fixing cost. They asked for official payment confirmation.
But: 1) they didn’t tell me from the very beginning that this is needed; 2) they know for sure that there is no car repair in that city and there could be no official documents.

Besides that they asked to pay for the car wash.

Please try to avoid this rent company!

Horrible experience. They give you broken cars and charge huge amounts of money and won’t follow meeting times. They say am people showing good cars on their website and take to their office and shows you broken cars. I asked for a Kia Rio and they were trying to push me a broken down Toyota aqua :(

"SR Rent a Car" is one of the best companies I have ever had the pleasure of rented a car for my personal use for few days. One of my friend recommended them to me and said their service is good and the rates are also reasonable. Absolutely, their service is excellent, the staff is always very helpful and friendly. Their cars are also comfortable and clean.

Definitely I will contact them again whenever I want to rent a vehicle. They even have experience drivers if required.

Highly recommended!

These guys really helped me out as I didn’t have my International license and they were able to apply for me to keep me out of trouble. The car I had worked well and was great on fuel. I had questions along the road and they were able to help me with my trip. Thanks guys!

I was given a Perodua Bezza instead of the Toyota Allion which I had booked. The Bezza was a much lower quality car than the Toyota which I had booked. I accepted the car because was travelling with my wife and infant child and we would have been stranded on the road if I rejected the car. The car rental company said "take it or leave it". They also took the same rental amount from me after downgrading the car. Thank you Warren and Dushant :)

We just returned from a 3 week vacation on Sri Lanka where we rented this great van from SR Rent a Car. We were absolutely satisfied with SR rental and the van was in great condition and drives excellently. Very reliable service team, they met us at the airport as agreed and are known at the airport which makes entry easier. They responded to all of our questions before our arrival and helped us organize our drivers licenses and insurance. We can highly recommend this agency.

Last year we booked a car from this company. They came to the airport with a broken-down vehicle. They replaced it with a quite nice Honda Grace. So we booked the same car this year — I specifically asked for the same car. When my mother exited from Colombo Airport, they were waiting outside — without the car. They asked her to follow them to the office (with luggage and all, after an 18-hours-long flight). Once she had filled the documents and paid the rental (the entire process took about 2 hours), they gave her another car, some lower class one, not the one we booked. They are dishonest, untrustworthy and have no regard for their terms of service or customer service.
I used this company twice and was disappointed both times, won't make the same mistake again. Avoid!

This is a terrible Car Renting company. Theses people do not know how to speak to their customers. Customer service is nil. They think customers like beggars. Their staff has no senses or value of people. You will feel like they are thevies who are stealing money from people. I had very bad experience of hiring a car from this company on my tour to Sri Lanka. It was a very painful experience with this company. This company over charged from me.The vehicle was changed at several occasions and a vhecle provided with expired registration documents (expired tax disc) and the local police stopped the vehicle due to displaying expired car registration disc. I would like to request you, do not spoil your tour/ holiday with this bloody company. If you do not believe me, read other people comments too. I believe positive review they have are not genuine. This is a terrible company I ever had.

SR rent a car is the best company in Colombo. I haven't had any problem at all for last 3 years. Excellent rate and perfect customer service, compare to any other car rental companies in SriLanka. And all cars are in perfect condition.I highly recommend SR rent a car. A++++++++

Do not use, be warned, this company is terrible, had to wait one hour at Colombo airport, when he eventually appeared he had no concept of customer care.
He promised a collection on the return day earlier than scheduled, even that did not happen, we had to hire a taxi to the airport. He never appeared.
We are out of pocket on two counts, a taxi booking and the initial charge via the travel agents.
Warning, look at the reviews and judge for yourselves. Easier to hire a taxi at the airport, there are lots of other companies who are more proffesional.
There are lots of willing companies, research before committing.

1) I waited one hour before their driver come to pick me up from airport, 2) they add $10 fraudulent cleaning charge when I returned on a raining day, 3) they will add gasoline charge if they can. 4) all cars are used cars from Japan, not well maintained at all. Simply, stay away from these guys if you don't want troubles when you return or on the road.

Terrible experience. Representative was late for 1,5h at the airportso arrived at 01.30am?! We called all the phone numbers provided with no reply until finally when he showed up. Representative was indifferent and unapologetic, even blaming us for the delay.

Than, had to drive for 15 min to some warehouse to get the car. And, surprisingly, the car we booked was not available, but some lower class car! We had no choice but to take what was available.

All this messed up our hotell booking - the hotel reception was not working - so we had to drive around to find other hotel.

On positive note, that little car was brend new, and also we got a replacement after two days, in the level of car class we actually booked.

I have using the car rental for past 3 years for my holidays in SL, no problem at all for me, best rates, best service. Before that I use more than 4 companies and never get the service like SR. You have to rent a car and get a clear picture of the SR Rent A Car. They are the best company in Sri Lanka. I was travelling 3 times per year to SL.
