Natural place in knuckles mountain ..Beautiful water flowing through the forest . Nice place to camping .

Rambukoluwa is a beautiful remote village in knuckles mountain range. This cottage is situated right there edging a beautiful water stream surrounding misty mountains. You have to take all the food provisions, there is a care taker. Spending a night there is truely awesome. Road was okay upto the cottage. amazing place to visit.

Spectacular Eco Lodge to spend a night with the nature. Hospitality is also quite amazing. You won't get any network coverage here.

Nice place to camping. There are camping beds, and the lodge also can facilitate 8 people, inside. There’s no great facilities there, but the cost is more than reasonable. The view is nice and the stream on the side is a great one. Clean water. Crystal clear !

Very nice and calm place.max 8 people.booking should be done from forest department.there is mr.ajith to serve everything you want.no hot water.

The Rambukoluwa Eco Lodge, also known as the Kalu Ganga Forrest Department Lodge, provides basic sleeping facilities for 8 people in two rooms. Each room has 1 double bed and a 2-sleeper bunk bed. Meals will be cooked for you, and you are expected to bring all rations and ingredients. Cooking gas charges are LKR 20 per person per meal. If you don't bring your linen, you will be charged a small sum for these. There is a dining/sitting area in the form of a balcony. The water for the lodge is obtained from a small spring in the hills and was safe to drink. This water is pumped to the kitchen, outdoor sink and to the bathroom. There is an electric bulb and a plug-point in each room. As the power is off-grid and generated through a community effort, electricity is not guaranteed. As of writing this review there is no mobile phone coverage from any operator in the lodge area. A flight of stone steps takes you down to the camping area. There are 2 platforms to setup tents, but these don't seem to be used anymore. Beyond the camping site is the river. The water of the Kalu Ganga is fantastic and relaxing. This lodge is not recommended during rainy season. Due to thick vegetation, the air is still and a breeze is rare, but the climate is good and comfortable even during summer. If you enjoy the great outdoors, simple eco-living, bathing in the river and generally relaxing, this place may be perfect for you. Multiple caretakers work here on a roster. I visited the lodge three times, and all three times Ananda was our caretaker/cook. Ananda is a courteous and hard working person. Taking a half-size bottle of local hooch for your caretaker is a norm.

A good place to stay at the Knuckles mountain range. Prior approval is necessary from the department of forest regional office - Matale.
