Historical place. Great king walagamba used to make his hide_outs and prepared his army to battle with invade king. Hike lovers can have fun but you must get your permission via the Teros who are in the temple before you climb the mountain. No need of any aid or guide to hike cause there are foot steps to climb up. At the top of the mountain there is an exquisite sight the down valley and area. If you bring artificial things like plastic and anything make sure to bring them back. That is a beautiful nature and dont make it dirty. Only leave your footprints

Nice hike with an making view for the sunrise. No tourist, we saw the sunrise by ourselves. Hike is not so easy, specially when it is dark but works out :)

A nice view point. Good panoramic view of Victoria reservoir and Knuckles mountain range. Bit hard climb up, but you will be revarded by the view!

One of the best places to have a view of the victoria dam. Better you visit when water is filled and the view is breathtaking. You have to go through a temple to climb up the hill through a thick forest. But it worth. Takes around 45 mints to go up.

Actual name is Bambaragala. You have to hike 45min from Bambaragala rajamaha viharaya to reach the peak. Because of the rock shape which formed as a box people call it Pettigala. This is a easy hike but bit hard in the final steep area. You can see 360 view of Victoria reservoir and many highlands. Must visit !!!

You can reach there very easy. But mind on your path. Before you visit there ask for permission from Bamabaragala Raja Maha Viharaya. It may make your journey safe and count. Vist there early morning as you can.

An absolute highlight from my time around Kandy.
A short drive from my accommodation at the Pepper Cottage, Pettigala presented a modest but challenging climb to its peak where I was presented with amazing panoramic views over the whole of Digana and the Victoria Reservoir.

නාරම්පනව ගම්මානය ආසනයේ පිහිටා ඇති රජමහා විහාරයක වන බබරගල රජමහාවිහාරයට පිටුපසින් ඇති වනාන්තරය තරනය කර පෙට්ටිගල නම් ස්තානයට ගමන් කිරීමට පුලුවන්. ඉතාමත් දර්ශනීය ආකාරයට වික්ටෝරියා ජලාශය ඇතුලුව හතර වටෙන්ම කදු පන්ති වලින් වට වුනු. හුදකලා වූ ගිරි ශිකරයක් ලෙස මෙය හදුන්වන්නට පුලුවන්.බබරගල රජමහාවිහාරයේ සිට 700m පමන කැලය මැදින් ඇවිදාගෙන යා යුතු වේ.
