Last weekend I have booked this place with my wife who injured an accident and were in hospital last several months. She strongly need mental relaxation and refreshment. That’s the reason to go this place & stay peacefully and the arriving day morning I have directly call the hotel and made booking for air conditioned double room for two days. The confirmed the booking by phone. When I search more information about the location I have noticed I can do online booking for this hotel and for a safe side I have called again to hotel and checked weather I shall book through online but even that time they confirmed booking and informed me rooms will be available at 5.30pm onwards.
When we arriving to hotel at 5.30pm they not ready for this booking and in charged person said need another one hour to ready the room. They showed the room which at ground floor and we left the place until room ready.
We visited Mapakada wewa bund and then went to Mahiyangana stupa. At 7pm only we returned to hotel again and we expected room but then again in charge person informing us no AC room for us and only non AC room can be given at the time. Even he saying from the morning he allocated non AC room even I clearly informed we need AC room our stay. Also mentioning since we late half an hour we thought we will not return for this booking which is not acceptable at all as we came to the hotel at 5.30pm and has to go back due to their delay.
Somehow little while later one staff member agreed to give us another AC room and again we have to wait until room ready. Finally we got the room in ground floor said with AC. When we entering the room it was so hot and AC running and temperature set to 18C0. Several hours passed bud didn’t seem AC is working then I have to call in charge person and complained about the matter. Little later staff member came with remote and again it set to 16C0 butt didn’t worked whole night. We were burning in the room and next day morning no power supply to the room few hours. No lights !!! No AC !!! in the room. Somehow we managed situation and breakfast came to room which we ordered. Plus mark !!!! it was good.
Room condition also average and not well maintained. We experienced cockroaches running on the ground and flying sometimes!!!!!!. I have requested room changed with better view and with working AC, they agreed and we vacated this room by 9.30am. They asked us to one more hour to ready other room and we left the hotel to visit environment.
We returned hotel again at 1.30pm with sweating after bit walking and need good shower. But nobody considered and room were not ready even after 4 hours passed. We waited until another one more hour and got the room.
Room was ok, clean newly build area in first floor. Ac kept on and set again 16C0. But again few hours no electricity. Nobody bothered about their clients’ comforts and to run generator for electricity. Dinner came on time which was good. Thanks for even that.
Again next day morning no electricity to room, No lights!!!!!, No AC!!!!. I have to go and complained again to in charge person. Seems he didn’t realize gravity of impact of their guests. Simply said yes power cuts will see little time. But sometime later I realized they run generator for power but they disconnected AC power supply which again burning us in the room.
We checkout at 10am and bill was given by in charge person and charged rate for AC rooms for both days. I inquired that but he didn’t consider any about inconvenience matter and even didn’t trouble say sorry for made situation at our stay. They wants only money and I paid as mentioned but explained they have to consider their claims comforts first and then the money.
I feel place is good, having potential for good tourism. Staff ok but need proper management and discipline to run the place. Hard to recommend anybody until they realize their importance objects is their clients.response / report this review -
