A must see in Hambanthota.
Entrance fees-
Local adults( above 12 yrs)- Rs.60
School children & children below 12yrs- Rs.10
Senior citizens- Rs.10
Electric safari vehicle with a guide for Rs.1000 per hour. Can complete the tour within an hour.
300 acres to cover. Can walk if you are interested.

If you are nature lover this is a good place to have a relaxing walk. The Garden is situated in the Dry Zone of the country, the temperature in day time could be painful, with higher humidity. It is recommended to visit the botanical garden either in morning, between 8-10 a.m or in the evening after 3.30 or 4. The last entry to the park is before 5.00 p.m., but those who are already entered could stay till 5.45 p.m.

An alone place during weekdays. It is better to take a golf cart rather than walking along the garden during afternoon, because of the heavy sunshine. Maintenance is poor. Car parking spaces are available, but other facilities are inadequate.

Some of the areas may still under construction.

So attractive place. But very hot inside garden. However there are so many beautiful & impressive places to look. Very nice places are there for a photo shoot. At public holidays there are so many people come here. I think early in the morning & evening are good time to come here. This is a botanical garden situated in Hambantota. So at 12 O'clock sun is very brighter than morning & evening. So that temperature will go up to higher limits Come & enjoy my friends.

Attractive botanical garden in southern province. This is considered as the first botanical garden established in dry zone of Sri Lanka. Electrically powered golf carts are offered just only for Rs 1000 with a guide who is responsible to give a safe and comfortable ride while sharing his knowledge about the garden. Many species of plants can be found. Solar power is widely used for many purposes.

What I have to say is, It is very difficult to cover the trail on foot. It is very hot and condition of climate is nearly arid. The park offers electric golf cabby rides for Rs 1000 with a well trained guide personnel. It will be much useful since he explains everything you need to know and you can ask about anything you want to know.
**Make sure you carry enough water with you!

Great place to visit. I recommend you to take a golfcat with a guide just for Rs.1000 additional to optimise the time and learn most important facts. This is the only Drysone botanical garden in Sri Lanka. Rea experience.
