Magul Maha Viharaya was build and developed by king dhutugamunu and queen viharamaha devi in the memory of their wedding day. The rock cava situated in this land considered as the place where they spend their first night together. As for now this spiritual place has 2200 years of history.
Usually local tourists skip this place from their way to situlpauwa. Anyway this a clam and quiet place to take a rest and explore. Only one monk currently reside in this vihara premises. He will be happy to explain about the history of this vihara. Dont miss out the 'vihara ge' and 'Honeymoon cave' during your vist.
රහතන් වහන්සේලා වැඩ සිටි මගුල් මහා විහාරය වසර 2200ක ඉතිහාසයකට උරුමකම් දක්වයි. කාවන්තිස්ස මහා රජතුමා සහ විහාරමහා දේවිය විසින් ස්වකීය විවාහ මංගල්‍යය සිහිවනු පිනිස කරවනු ලැබූ බව සැලකේ.
තවද මෙහි පිහිටා ඇති ගල් ලෙනක ඔවුන් තම ප්‍රථම රාත්‍රිය ගත කල බව පැවසේ. මෙහි පැමිනෙන්නෙකුට තවමත් එම ගල් ලෙන සහ ලෙන් විහාරය මෙන්ම රහතුන් වහන්සේලා සදහා සැකසූ කටාරම් කෙටූ ලෙන් කුටි දැක ගත හැකිය. මෙය දැනට සිතුල්පව්ව රජ මහා විහාරය යටතේ පාලනය වෙනු ලබයි. මෙහි වසන ස්වාමීන් වහන්සේගෙන් මගුල් මහා විහාරය පිලිබද වැඩි විස්තර ඔබට ලබා ගත හැකිය.
ඔබ මෙහි පැමිනෙන්නේ නම් කරුණාකර මෙහි පරිසරය අපවිත්‍ර නොකිරීමට සහ පෞරාණික වස්තු ආරක්ශා කිරීමට කාරුණික වන්න.
