Great places to buy quality tea in sri lanka
Nice, kindly free tour. You can't see a real production, but they show the whole production process really good. Friends of mine visited a real production and said the Museum was much better and they give you more informations.
At the end you can test one Tea for free in a nice ambience.
Not exactly what we expected but very informative.
The museum is on the 3rd floor of a commercial building and easy to miss. Good explanation of the tea making procces.
Mackwoods is still there with their original tea without any blendings in QUEEN ELIZABETH PLAZAalthough they moved from the factory they are still there in nuwaraeliya town!
Mackwoods’ tea factory at Labookellie is on the A5 up to Nuwara Eliya from Kandy, past Tawalantenne and the Ramboda Tunnel. You can’t really miss it, sitting on a bend on the road, all green and white. It’s surrounded by swirling rows of plantation, the lush green hillsides all around striated by tea bushes with colourful dots here and there – the tea pickers of Plantation. Mackwoods Labookellie Tea Centre, situated approximately 1500 meters above sea level.
Mackwoods Museum one of the beautiful place to visit to the plantations, with factory showing all the working processes. Absolutely recommended, but if you have already seen a plantation of the visit it becomes repetitive.
Very nice place. You can find All the Mackwood Ceylon tea product in here. Very helpful for Travelers. Beautifully arranged place. Also they have the “Mackwood Restaurant” in the 2nd floor. So pretty much everything for the traveler to refreshing & Buy some Ceylon tea.
I love this place where you can see the whole manufacturing processes of making tea. Staff were very positive and energetic as their tea. They were very good with foreigners and help them to get what they need. A must visit place in Sri Lanka.
