  It's located in a beautiful environment in Kahandamodera, Ranna - deep south of Sri Lanka. The restaurant has a a very simple lay out. However, it has some appeal, perhaps owing to the overall arrangements and the natural surroundings. Food is tastier though it takes quite a long time to be ready. If you want you take the meals out to eat elsewhere. However, dining here surrounded by nature - paddy land on one side, a pond with water birds on the other, and a cultivation behind is a good experience. The last 100 m of the access road is not sealed. If you are driving a very low ground clearance vehicle such as Prius you have to be really careful. There is no separate parking. You can park by the roadside. The restaurant is a long way out toward the sea from the main road connecting Tangible to Hambantota. Never mind, it's a beautiful drive through wooded areas and a few villages. You don't have to ask for directions as Google maps will take you right thete without any hiccups.

  Very nice personel and place. Only fresh food so you should not to be in a hurry. Slowly, excellent food.

  Great place with delicious home cooked meal. Garlic prawns were spot on. Well worth the wait it took in preparation. Highly recommend.

  Great local restaurant with amazing fresh fish with garlic sauce. Big portions and super friendly hosts that cook the food fresh and with love. Come here if you’re staying in any of the hotels around. Plan enough time as it takes some time for the food to be ready. Highly recommend.

  The nearest decent place to eat is 18km in Tangalle so this place was a gem in middle if nowhere. The food is awesome and cheap!

  As we stayed at the portofino Resort and we dind't really like the doof there, the food at lawana sea food Restaurant was absolutely delicous. We had the Rice and curry. The Lady cooked everything fresh so we had to wait a bit but that was no Problem! She gave us the wifi pasport so we could use it. Absolutely perfekt!

  Really good food, great atmosphere. We were staying at the Portofino but we liked the food much better here. We had prawns and fish of the day which were caught that day. Helpful owner that can organise taxis, trips etc.

  This place arranged an unforgettable birthday dinner for my husband and our company a week ago. The seafood are fantastic and so are the rice and curry and the noodles YEAS everything. And then the evening ending up with drums and song, just a perfect evening with he best host ever! If you stay at the Portofino Hotel in Ranna (close to Tangalle) Sri Lanka just go 200m. longer on the road, skip the hotel buffe and experience some realy good seafood.
