The food is not good! And the swimming pool is really bad! Home food is much better! The worst hotel ever! Dont go to this hotel and u ll regret!!!!

The place in general has good idea behind. It’s kind of eco style with single chatue. The food is amazing as well as the beach which is only for you. The lady was really sympatic and always helped in each and every enquery. What they should improve is the accommodation standard. The room was not clean (apart the bed) and we left the banana outside of fridge and some animal ate part of that which was not so nice to see in the morning.

The rooms are like cabanas. They are made out of wood and it is very cozy inside. Air conditioned. However the food is not good ! Home food is much better. The pool is a joke. The beach is beautiful though !

Kirinda beach resort. We love it. Wooden houses situated in a nice natural garden directly to the beach. The sea can be a little rough, but is the cleanest beach we have seen in Sri Lanka. Expect some rustik charme, but with all necessary comfort. A fantastic designed swimmingpool is build in high level on a rock so you can overlook the sea from there. Nice staff is serving good food. The Manager is providing an exelent service with help to arrange excursions etc.

Great eco place, surrounded with 2 huge beaches. Very beautiful garden, lots of animals and birds, sea tortillas.

Very good impression at the beginning. But after one day spent here, our point of view has radically changed. Mice were running up and down in our room all the night long and food was expensive and not so good. We were not suprised to be alone in the hotel and restaurant after all.

I was lucky enough to stay at Kirinda Beach Resort for a week in February 2017 and would return tomorrow if it were feasible. The location was stunning, right on the beach, and surrounded by glorious scenery and an area full of wildlife. I saw tortoises sauntering across the road, and iguanas basking in the sun, and there were plenty of monkeys and the ubiquitous marmosets. Peacocks and egrets abounded and many other different species of birds - I spotted a pair of green parrots - could be seen and heard all day but particularly at dawn and dusk. The cabins are beautiful, clean, and airy and a delight to stay in and, for a very early riser like myself, the tea and coffee making facilities were a godsend. The food was delicious, and plentiful and served in an open-sided large, raised wooden structure with views to the ocean and a constant warm breeze drifting through. A variety of dishes are available on the extensive menu and it was possible to choose from both Sri Lankan and European dishes. The breakfasts, which can be luxuriated over for hours if desired, were particularly good and a refill of the coffee pot was never a problem. The pounding of the surf was a constant there. The staff were always cheerful, friendly and helpful and nothing was too much bother. Tours to nearby attractions, particularly the safaris, were easily arranged. The owner, Patricia Parkin, is a most interesting woman, and a font of knowledge of all things Sri Lankan. You can while away the time on long beach walks, lazing on the beach, bathing in the warm turquoise ocean, popping down to the local village, visiting the nearby Buddhist temple or heading off on a more organized adventure. I thoroughly recommend Kirinda Beach Resort as a vacation venue when you're touring Sri Lanka.

We stayed here two nights in feb 2017 and had a wonderful experience. The location is stunning: incredible beach with big rocks to climb on and clean sand. You can swim right out front. The rooms are wood paneled with AC and they're standalone little huts with lots of charm. Very friendly staff, nice owner, great food. Wifi is available in a couch/seating area at the office but not at the rooms (yet) because they just started getting wifi in this area. It was a good stay. The beach is breathtaking. Oh yeah: a rooftop pool with awesome views!
Per the prior comment about the trees affecting the restaurant view: the owner is a conservation biologist, there's a reason the trees have been allowed to grow (turtles), ask her about it!response / report this review -

The worst experience we have ever had with a resort. The room had cockroaches, rats, bats, termites that covered our clothes with sawdust, wasps nests everywhere, and the ceiling was crumbling and leaking water into the middle of the floor. We were genuinely worried the roof was going to collapse and didn't feel safe.
They advertised a room that did not exist. When we complained the manager said agoda had their place confused with the hotel down the road. He was very rude and hostile and when we presented him with a list of what was wrong with our room, he ignored it and said we "would have complained about anything" and refused to give us a discount.
The room was dirty, mouldy and the toilet seat wasn't attached. The food was terribly expensive and poor quality and they would come to our room to get us to order in advance, so they could send staff home early. The whole place is built so badly it is shocking, the pool had rusty nails sticking out of the wall and paint splattered concrete.
Please do not book here, it ruined our holiday.response / report this review -
