The best place to kite surfing in srilanka and its a ideal place to beginners. Easily could find trainers and rent options. To reach to the lagoon can use ordinary vehicles. But if you wish to have a some fun you can drive through sand routes by off road vehicles. Wind is gusty on this area, but its fantastic condition for surfing.

Sri Lanka's pretty much only kite surfing destination. Backed by bunch of Professional kite surfing groups with 3 to 5 day beginners courses to more depth training & support is provided. Being more popular by European & American tourists for the sport it makes an ideal location for anyone to engage in the kits surfing activities here. Almost all hear round accommodation & service are provided at Kalpitiya and surrounding areas.
Other attractions would be the near by Wilpattu forest reserve, sea food, crabs, prawns & Noricholey power plant and wind mills situated because of the high wind conditions.

This place is famous for Para-Gliding in Sri Lanka. lots of tourists visit here for Para-Gliding. Land space is very narrow between the lagoon and the Indian Ocean. you dont require a 4WD to come to this place. however if you wish to travel to the tip of the Sand Route you need a 4WD.

Not really friendly. Good for newbies. The water is dirty.
