Situated beside river so have a nice view
there are lots of games and sports like :-Foot ball, boxing, swimming pool, table tennis, childrens Park etc etc etc

This is said to be the largest out door ground with many facilities around this area. There is a large ground, Swimming pool, Gymnasium and many more. Memberships can be obtained for regular attendees while daily payments can also be made. In house expert trainers are there. Overall management is excellent.

Good place having all facilities for sports. But lack of staff they unable to maintain it. Four badminton courts were there. But bad design for air flow. Pool, playground good. They have hostals too. Sufficient parking space availble.

Nawalapitiya Jayathilake Sports Complex, developed at a cost of Rs 250 million, houses a main sporting stadium with 400 m track consisting of eight lanes, with an additional 200 m warm-up track, a well equipped gymnasium and a football/rugby ground as well as a swimming pool with eight lanes and an indoor stadium which will facilitate 25 sporting events. A hostel, restaurant, medical centre, VVIP pavilion with 300 seats, VIP pavilion with 500 seats and a pavilion which consists around 20,000 seats are among the other facilities available in this complex.
This playground was established by late R. E. Jayatilaka, when he was the Chairman of the Nawalapitiya Urban Council. It was then known as the Nawalapitiya Grounds. It was only after his death that the Nawalapitiya Urban Council named it the Jayatilaka Grounds.
