  Very pleasant mountain range with its own scenic beauty, situated in the heart of this paradise. Take more water with you as there will not be any places for the water. Avoid rainy seasons because there wouldn’t be any shelter either, With the sun right above your head it will make the hike more hard.But the peak will make your hike a worth.

  Situated in Peradeniya, near the Peradeniya university. 6 km + route. The path is not easy. But the mountain range is full of breathtaking views. Better start the journey in the morning as soon as possible. Some places are steep. One has be careful there. There can be mist sometimes. Do not climb the mountain when it is raining. The paths are slippery.
  Take food and water when climbing.
  There are several shortcuts, and sometimes people lost their directions.
  But this place is full of beautiful views.

  Fantastic views, trail pretty good (but pretty steep), some guards and dogs at top around radio towers but not a problem. Left from Ceylon Tea Museum and made own way up (no signs). Up through tea fields and then follow large pipes that carry power up to the antennas on top.

  Awesome place for hiking. Beautiful view on the peak. Usually take 6 or more hours. It depends on how much distance you are going.

  It's good to visit a beautiful place like this. But please don't destroy them. Had great fun while the hike. Don't go alone it's not good. If you start your journey for COLOMBO the best way to travel is by train. It gives you best memories.

  Hanthana is a wonderful place to hike. Lovely nature, beautiful sight to watch. Top view looks like a green bed.
  13km Hike no water on top, but you have a water pipe at Signal Tower.

  Hanthana is a Protected area. There ara many paths to hike. Most of sri lankan university students choose this mountain area to their batch trips.
