Great time ! The tour in the spice garden was awesome. The guide was very knowledgable and very keen in answearing our questions. Lunch was amazing. Our bellies we're so happy 😃😃
Unless other places, all their products are home made from the organic spices they grow. Really good quality.response / report this review -

We had the most wonderful afternoon being taught how to cook delicious Sri Lankan dishes. The herb and spice garden was fascinating and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. If anyone is going to Sri Lanka make sure you book in here

Very tricky experience. Interesting excursion, but in the end they were really pushing us to buy something. They offered you a tea for "free", but they obviously wait for a big gratuity. Prices in the shop are really high. It's seem to me like a trap for tourist.

Great place - without any tourists. The guide was very nice and friendly and answered all our question. The tour was big, we took almost an hour and never were pushed to buy anything. Happy to have been there an not in another of the herbal garden packed with cars of tourists

Be warned!!! All the spice and herbal gardens in Sri Lanka are not fair with the prices. So be careful and pay alone if you sure about the product and price. Ask for their papers.

Really interesting and informative free tour. Contrary to what lonely planet warned the staff weren't pushy at all and we weren't hassled to buy anything from the shop. We did it en route to giritale from Kandy and was a nice 30/40 mins stop off. Recommended

Great stop for a free spice and herbal garden tour. The grow their crops organic, compared to the many others on the road, that all are using chemicals. Book ahead if you want lunch. Yes, they will sell you overpriced spiced, like every other spice garden, if you want to buy. But they were not pushy in any ways.

Along this road (and everywhere tourists make their way to major attractions) you will find: spice gardens, tea plantations, antique shops and clothing bazaars. All of these without exceptions are TOURISTS TRAPS! And your guide is getting his cut (20-30%).
My recommendation is to wait and do your shopping in Colombo or the airport's duty free.
A box of pure white tea tips, 200g, is about 2500 rupees or 15$ US at one of the 8 tea shop in the terminal.
King coconut oil 1000-2500 rupees, depending on size. Please see the picture!
