Run away, they are professional burglars. A big storytelling to take you money at the end on a "Ayurvedic" shop. Charging you 20€ for what you buy exactly the same on the supermarket for 1€. Be ware don't stop !!!

They will show plants with its associated oil or cream , and the benefits of using it , plus a free massage (but u have to pay tips at the end) ! Then take u to their pharmacy, here be aware that the prices are very high compared with reel value, example one oil used against mosquito we bought at 15$ , I found the same in a normal supermarket at the price of 380 rupees!

It has been 9 months since I went to Sri Lanka. I went to New Ranweli spice garden and bought sandalwood and it was good. Once again I want to go to New Ranweli spice garden and buy sandalwood again. It's best.

Don't think it's a big garden as it's promoted on Internet, it's OK for only who search it, but I have searched wot to do in kandy in a day, I found this place, visited with family , disappointed with the small area and not a public place, very small Road to the location, because we have in our area more bigger than this spice garden, not much variety of gardens in this place.

Very detailed and informative tour with friendly guide. The tour was free with possibility to buy spices (okay prices) at the end. Would recommend it!

Not that exotic if you know your spices. The shop is redicolus expensive. And I'm doubtful of the cure of diabetis hairloss haireremoval creams etc they clame works to 100%

Was taken here by Hetti of Hettitours of Kandy (highly recommended as a guide) during out trip to Sri Lanka in April 2017
The gentleman that escorted us around was highly knowledgeable and I would recommend a visit. We bought some oil and herbs which we were told was had excellent healing properties. It certainly worked on my injured armresponse / report this review -

Very good spice garden. No crowds. The man who works there is really nice and showed us lot of things. He can speak english pretty good and it's really not about the money. No scam or just money making. If you want to see a spice garden, go to this place :)

Do not hire tuk tuks to go to New Ranweli Spice Garden.
Careful where your tuk tuk driver tries to take you.
As part of our Kandy tour we went to the peradeniya botanical garden and because we saw on google maps that new ranweli spice garden was near the area and the ones who have visited the garden had written good reviews we hired a tuk tuk to get there, we gave our tuk tuk driver clear instructions as to where we need to go ( new ranweli spice garden) and he simply nodded Like he understood everything. Later on we realized that he was driving towards the Colombo side towards a different spice garden. Luckily we had switched on our google maps and we asked him to stop coz he was trying to take us to a different spice garden.saying that it is a better garden he was trying to take us. We immediately got off the tuk tuk And took the public transport followed the map and came to new ranweli spicegarden.
We really have no idea why some of theses tuk tuk drivers mislead unsuspecting tourists like us. So thought I share this story so that no other tourist would fall for these tuk tuk drivers.
Garden was nice and we Learned a lot about Sri Lankan spices. They also have a small boutique where you can buy all the Sri Lankan spices. Give them a call on the number given on their site coz you won't be able to locate the place on your own.response / report this review -

It's a small and lovely spice garden and the guide there was very informative. Entrance is free and there is a small shop selling spices and stuff. A good place to drop by especially if you're planning to visit the nearby botanic garden.
