  Debarawewa Central College stands as the only National School in the Tissamaharama Education Zone in the Hambantota District. It has enriched the community by providing quality education and obtaining extraordinary results at public examinations.
  Gradually Debarawewa Central became one of the best schools which provided the largest number of students who passed G.C.E (O/L) and G.C.E (A/L) under the guidance of several principals who headed the school from time to time. Today there are more than 2300 students getting quality education under the guidance of 85 teachers.
