  Matara Central College is one of the mixed government school in Matara. It is located in Southern part of Sri Lanka. Matara Central College was Established in 1932. It was populated as central college and now it is established as a National School under category of the Ministry of Education, Sri Lanka. Today Matara Central College has over 3000 students. It was guided by 18 principals for today. School's motto is අපි ඔබේ ජීවය වෙමු; (“We Shall be your life”) and it's flag has blue and white colours. Matara Centrel college four sport houses are 'Sathya', 'Maithree', 'Shanthi', 'Veerya'. This school has some of great past pupils and it's students are good in sports and their education.
