Only stopped by for some coffeeand it was good coffee. Quiet and cool place in the fort. I hear their gin and tonic cake is delicious.
I forgot what I had here oh yeah I had fish and chips here, it was not bad xx
Location is fantastic, especially under a clear dark sky! However, the food didn't WOW us for the price. Much more expensive then other spots and just doesn't hit that bar. What it lacks it makes up with ambience, and the ability to bring your own booze!
They don't serve alcohol here, but the food is good, great atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. Maybe a little bit too pricey.
Beautiful location. The food is pretty good. They didn't have a liquor license when we went, so have a drink next door at the hotel and then go eat here.
Food was decent but the service was terrible. The table wasn't ready 25m after our reservation, the waiters were slow and had to be asked for everything. The manager was unprofessional and didn't seem concerned that we had been waiting. We ordered seared carpaccio and we're brought sashimi, which was didn't think was a safe option given the heat and disorganisation of the restaurant. Cuttlefish starter was overcooked. Much much better service required, if it improves this place could be good.
Very nice location in an old building with great food and service. Definitely worth the money!
We ordered a bisque soup, a crab and apple salad and lobster with pasta, all of them lack salt pepper and acidity, the salad had no dressing or a single flavor and the lobster was cold and over cooked. Pasta was boiled al dente( which I love it), but there was no lobster sauce, just a plain bisque with some coconut foam. I didn’t eat anything, they never asked why, neither they offered something else in order to satisfy their customers. In a very friendly way, I went to inform them about their cooking and they said thank you. The food does not worth the high prices and I definitely not recommend it !
Best food in downtown Galle, but rather the best price value.
The menu prices are on the high-end of the scale in comparison to the others restaurants in the area; unfortunately, we all left there feeling the quality did not meet the asking price.
Staff was responsive, atmosphere was nice, but the food and the preparation of it was mediocre.
Sent back the kingfish sashimi (we were assured it was fresh, but the fish was a bit slimy and both tasted and texturally felt like it was going bad). We've had enough sashimi to know this wasn't stored or prepped properly.
Duck spring rolls were not bad, a bit on the dry side. Pulled pork was okay, but the oil used to cook the french fries tasted old and in need of replacement. Lamb cooked in the tagine was decent, lacking flavor but not bad.
Overall, I wrote a long review because out of our 10 days in Sri Lanka, this dining experience was both the most expensive meal and collectively our least favorite.
A great place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is delicious and the service is outstanding.
One of the best places for dining and serves excellent coffee and shakes.
The new Fine dining experience inside the Dutch fort. There is both style and gourmet values in the food. This would be the perfect restaurant to host dinner dates, honeymoon dinners or if just want to impress your partner.
Had an overpriced ceasar salad, where there anchovy taste were overpowering and the parmesan non existant. The chicken was grilled charry and bone dry. So basically it tasted like iceberg salad, fishsauce and burnt chicken. Not nice at all. Would not go again.
Lovely quaint building, friendly staff, amazing menu / food. They don't serve alcohol, but welcome you to bring your own without a corkage fee.
We were exploring the Galle fortress when we stumbled upon this restaurant. The food here is a fantastic fusion cuisine. Every dish is infused with Sri Lankan spices to give it a rich aroma. The dining area is very cozy with sufficient lightning. Got to love their new chandelier in the dining area. Th staff was super friendly and approached us after each dish served to inquire if it was good. We would recommend the jumbo fish cake which was absolutely delicious. It was the best crunchiest fish starter we had in Sri lanka. The Trincomalle Barramundi was the next dish we had with mash potatoes. yes yes mash potatoes :) We also recommend the Black pork curry with rice. To wrap things up we had a choco gooey baked fondant which I will let you taste and comment cause I don't want to go all desertgasmic on the desert.
