Skip this branch and use an atm instead. I dropped in to change foreign currency. No wait for the teller, good start. She filled out the paperwork and took my passport to photocopy. On the way to the copier, she stopped to chat with two coworkers, laughing and looking at each other's phones. After five minutes of this, she went for the cash. When she finally came back she just dropped the stack of cash in front of me, 17,900+ LKR in small bills and said thank you. Didn't count it out for me or anything. Then whilst I was counting, the security guard came to usher me out of the chair so the next customer could sit down. Really, it was quite the surreal experience. Fifteen minutes of watching people ignore me, then send me quickly on my way. Is this typical service? First and last time for me inside a bank office. Will use the atm or change money in a gold shop next time.

Bank of Ceylon branch in Galle Dutch Fort. One of the oldest bank in town. Bank provided all the facilities, including money exchange. That's really helpful for the tourists visiting Galle. ATM located next to the bank, entrance from the main road. No dedicated parking for the bank, but there are couple of parking near the fort main entrance.
