By far my favourite place to stay in Sri Lanka. The views from the house are out of this world. Our hostess couldn’t have been more warm or welcoming. We stayed in comfortable, spacious, modern and clean rooms. The traditional Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious. First class

It would be difficult to try to recommend a place any more highly. The friendly ambience, the great food, great insight and great views. Probably the best place we stayed - slightly pricey, especially with dinner, but not by much.

Exceptional homestay. Terrific, attentive and kind hostess, and the view from the balcony is sublime- definitely worth the 5.45 wake up!! Also make sure you stay for dinner, it's quite the banquet and the food is as tasty as it is plentiful. Many thanks for a great stay

A hidden gem in Ella!

We fell in love with Chamodya the moment we arrived at this peaceful and scenic homestay in Ella. This was one of our favourite places to stay in Sri Lanka. It is a haven of tranquility within easy walking distance of the city centre (10minutes via the train tracks) with a MAGNIFICENT view!

The breakfast was excellent and the whole atmosphere of the place was one of relaxation and homeliness. Nilu is an extremely helpful and attentive host who made us feel very welcome. We stayed here for 3 nights and wish we could have stayed longer.

We would definitely come back to this place were we ever to visit Ella again, and we can only recommend this place to others.

Friendly service, stunning view of Adam's Peak. Great authentic Sri Lankan food if you don't want to take the short walk to town. Large airy clean rooms with en suite. Cooler climate. Loved it!

It's a nice and quiet home stay, not far away from Ella City (only 10 minute walk). It has an outstanding view to Ella Rock. The owner is very kind and friendly and has great hospitality. They make delicious food.

Wonderful Breakfast and you really have to try the dinner (the Foto was taken at full moon). The rooms are as clean and nice as you can find any in Sri Lanka. Since it cools down below 15 degrees Celsius at night A/C is completely unnecessary. The view is amazing and with the shortcut over the railway tracks it takes less than 10 Minutes to reach the centre of Ella. Overall this was for sure the best stay we had in Sri Lanka.
P.S.: We really loved the slightly naughty house dog Bindu. :-)

A house is not a home without beautiful people and fortunately we found this beautiful home stay experience at Chamodya Home stay in Ella, Spectacular view with falls and mountains around and the hosting family that was so kind and goes out of the way in her hospitality.
A beautiful place to stay alongside being hosted by such humble and loving individuals. immediately made us feel welcomed into their residence -of which is quite rare as we found a home that felt comfortable, especially in a new living space. This was just an amazing experience and I 100000% totally recommend to stay here. We absolutely loved it and the food that was served was like out of the world having so much of fruits for breakfast. I have to say that the Tuk Tuk driver ( Nilame) that the host lady ( Nilu )recommended us was honest and absolutely reasonable. We couldn't have found a better guide than that. Ever, and definitely will be returning again!
