  Cockroaches in the bathroom, no hot water from the shower, ants in the room, very unfriendly owner, who cheats you on the agreed price. You don't get real bedsheeds either, only strange woolen blankets and the mattress was too soft for my taste. Breakfast is good and the staff (not the owner) are friendly. I can't recommend this place

  It has a good view. But there were not enough service compare with any other hotels with the same price range.

  Where do I start..Up a big hill take a tuk tuk if you have just arrived from Kandy. Amazing view you will not be disappointed. Loads to do in Ella, good location easy if want to dump your stuff and grab a well deserved beer after a 7hr train journey. Quick shower before we head out an army of ants matching up the side of the shower wall, we head out arrive back around 11pm. It does get quite cold in the evening, but to wake up at 4am freezing it's no surprise when you have old blankets and no glass in the windows behind the bed with a sheet of plastic taped to stop the cold. A massive spiderweb on the light fixture, and the constant noise from tuk tuks revving up the hill and the barking dogs for hours. Not great, the breakfast was fine but we couldn't stay for another night for the £50 we had paid. We checked out early, but to add insult to injury check out the palace the manageress lived in! Top notch place in a very good condition, if she spent as much money on the rooms as she has in her house she could charge those prices. Massive let down
