Good place for a casual drink with friends, more suitable for an european pallet, but would be good to add more Sri Lanka items to the menu. Or a mix of both is ideal. Service is usually at a high level, with an occasional change.

My friends and I hang out at Cafe Francais most weekends. The food is great and the music is the best in town. It is also one of the few bars in Colombo a group of girls can enjoy a night out and feel safe. Last weekend a group of guys continuously intruded into our table making us feel very unsafe. The staff kindly requested that they move away from our table. However several of them kept coming back and sitting at our table. They were being unruly and disrespectful. Due to their non compliance the staff removed them from the premises 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Horrible experience [bad attitude by owner the DJ guy] Couple of co-workers of us including a foreign peer visited the place last week to chill out after a hectic week. One of ours suddenly asked leave the place just he accidentally sitting on a reserved chair. Somehow our guy bit reluctant to leave due to the bad attitude shown towards him. However a rude waiter and couple of bouncers showed up to kick us off as to the command by the owner AKA the Dj guy. We left the place but.. probably will make a complaint to the consumer affairs within the week. [Quick last hint, if you going to dance with Dj's wife.. be careful]

Pros: I really like CF the vibe and they have a DJ that plays on the weekrnd evenings.
Cons: but I ordered vodka cranberry and the bartender will auto pour you the most expensive. So be very explicit when ordering and check your bill.

Great atmosphere and good music. The best is the service. The bartenders are good and they know to make good drinks. Crowded on Fridays and Saturdays.

Food was really good, and the chief is very nice, he come to see us and ask how was the food. He really want to satisfy every taste. He was specially interested on local reviews. Because native Sri Lankan have different taste than an European one. He was very interested by my feedback as Sri Lankan living in France. For every foreigner it's really good place if you want real French food in Sri Lanka

Nice atmosphere, good menu options and friendly service.
Tried one of the burgers. Great presentation. However, the patty was flaky and dry, medium-rare was over well-done and charred. Tree bottom part of the bun was soaked and mushy by juices from the patty.

European quality food and drinks in the middle of busy Colombo. Nice hamburgers with quality meat and excelent homemade buns.
Good coffee and friendly staff.

A nice and friendly Café/restaurant, the chef Bertrand offers excellent menu and tasty dishes to his guests - try the sole meunière!! A recommended address in Colombo.

At long last! Sri Lanka has a a proper. Good. Awesome French restaurant. They are so good due to some well skilled Foreign chefs. Best and well kept wines. Nice setting and ambiance.
