Maybe because we just visited the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kandy. But these are way less impressive. It was also raining heavily but it could be a nice stop to stretch your legs before getting on the train to Ella from here if it isn't raining.

Had a lovely variety of flowers with a very picturesque environment. Have many areas to cover within the botanical gardens. This is open until 6 pm. Visitors are avoided after 6 due to wild animals entering the gardens.

A must visit place if you are in nuwaraeliya.beautifully landscaped with a wide variety of trees and plants. You can either take a golf cart tour or just enjoy a very relaxing walk through the trees along the pathways. Good for a family outing and a good place for kids. Plenty of scenaries if you are looking for photographic backgrounds. Can learn a lot about plants.

Hakgala is the second most famous botanical garden in Sri Lanka. Got so many verities of flora, most of them are indigenous to Sri Lanka. Best time to visit is on April, May season where the flowers are blooming on most of plants. Inside got small shops so u can buy bottled water and snacks. And also there are toilets also. Please make sure not to pollute the garden by throwing waste. Staff is very strict about it.

Great experience, even if the season starts at april. We took a walking trip through the different gardens and also we asked for a golf card tour. It worked great together since the driver was a botanical expert, pointing us to many details we would not realize on our own.

Nice place to check out for a leisurely stroll. The park was being worked on when we were there.

The signs could have been done better because we got lost a bit.

Overall a good place to check out

A beautiful place in sri lanka. My personal idea is it is much worth if the government could cultivate and maintain a vegetable garden in a side of this premises itself.

Botanical Garden is bit good. But entry fee for the foreigner is very high. It is near about $10 Per person. It is not worth to visit the garden with this lot amount of money.

Recently visited this place after many years. It comes with many changes to its inherent beauty. Absolutely worthy place to visit to make your mind relax. I guess there should be many dedicated people behind creation of this heaven on earth.

There's no much to look at. Only a small range of flowers and a large number of trees. It looks more like a rainforest. They do charge an entrance fee, although I'm not quite sure of the exact amount. There is parking available on the street.

Very beautiful location. Best for photographer. However no suggested routes. Maps are shown in some places but hard to find the places when walking. It is better if directions are provided in several places. Also parking is not good. May be it is because the season during the time we visited. Road side parking they charge for that.

This is by far the best botanical garden in the island. Just walking along the numerous pathways justifies your visit to the park. You will be greeted by numerous beautiful plants in formations - both flowering and non flowering. Butterflies and birds are abundant here. Endemic species of Monkey is also found here. This is a nature photographer's paradise!

Try to make it till the rocky mountains in the north. The walk through the old trees is very calming. You may be able to see the monkeys too. Many parts are manicured but thankfully, a large portion retains its beautiful wildness
