Cute shop on the way of little Adam’s peak! Nice tables on rooftop and good coffee! We went there just for capuccinos and we recommend it!

Nice coffee place with good prices! I enjoyed my cappuccino since i have craved for a stronger coffee for awhile. It wasn’t as strong as i wished, but still better than most coffees in SL. The place is super cute also with a view on the forest. I didn’t try the food, but the prices looked good also!

Quiet hippy cafe serving great lassi and coffee. Bit out of the way but worth visiting if you're walking past. Friendly service and reasonable prices.

Enjoyed a really good coffee here- something I have been craving. Nice and strong and out of a machine, rather than the local “muddy” coffee that is normally served in a pot. I’m all for authenticity and local specialities but have been missing decent coffee.

Place owned by Russians, hence not a local one. You decide if you want to support lovals or not.
Food was nice, but nothing you can't find elsewhere. I'd prefer visiting a truly Sri Lankan cafe next time.response / report this review -

Nice herbal tea, coffee and Kottu Rotti. The place has a nice vibe, it just needs a little gentle music in the background and you could relax here for a morning or afternoon. Located midway on the walk between the town centre and 9 Arches Bridge, it's ideal for some peaceful refreshment.

I was super excited to find this cute art cafe while walking to Little Adams peak. However, I was appalled to witness the (male) owner SPEAKING HORRIBLY to one of his employees. (who was my sweet waiter) With further research I found out that the owner is not Sri Lankan. Its disappointing when people of a country invite us to have businesses there and then we treat the native people so badly. I travel all over the world and own a conscious travel business.We as travelers dictate which businesses flourish, support LOCALSAnd If you care about being a conscious traveller and kind people being treated respectfully. PASS this place. DO not support the owners bad behavior. There are plenty of other nice places, one is right by the entrance to Little Adams Peak:-) (and this places"art" is way overpriced and not made by Sri Lankans. Replying to owners comment.I believe owner is Russian, him and a woman were sitting upstairs near me in the cafe. I am also a travel writer, so I do understand many languages. i may not have completely understood or heard exactly what the owner was saying, but you can understand a lot from tone of voice and actions toward a person. I asked people around if indeed that was the owner and it was confirmed. I do not write reviews like this without doing research. I do not believe that surrounding locals would have any reason to tell me untruth. I understand this review is not favorable for you but I also believe it is our duty as travellers to support businesses who treat their local employees well. And to speak up when we see something unacceptable. Perhaps this will remind you that you never know who may be paying attention during unkind actions.

Came for dinner and came back the day after for cold drinks. The pumpkin soup was very special and tasty. They have nice shakes and real coffee! Decent prices and great atmosphere.

The umbrella art cafe is run by a foreign couple in Ella. All the artifacts and paintings on the wall have been done by her personally. The art works looks lovely. It is a nice place to relax and get some quality work done while sipping on a cup of coffee. #natnzin
