We had dinner (laap with chicken and papaya salad with chicken). The food is freshly cooked, thx open kitchen. It was really tasty, the service is nice and the atmosphere relaxed. Good choice!

Informal and "wild", as every restaurant here, its chef and owner, Done, is to my mind the best cook of all 4000 islands. His fare (fish, meat or vegetables/fruit and fruit fresh juices) is strictly Lao ethnic with some Thai curries, very tasty and often very hot but he can provide also mild dishes. Few tables, try to book. English spoken

I had the local sausage and sticky rice. Standard sticky rice container and perhaps at the most 6 of the tiny chipolata style sausages that you can get in a market for 1000kip. And this for 55000kip. Seriously folks? Had large ice cream on the way back to fill the large hole in my tummy.

From the tables you can see the staff hard at work in the kitchen. The cook seems very passionate, which shows in the lovely dishes that are served. Staff is friendly, prices are good, especially with the value you get. When the restaurant gets crowded, it will take a while before your meal is served, but it is definitely worth the wait.
Highly recommend.

Excellent meals on Don Khone in low season. The food is cooked right in front of you and is delicious! Prices are very reasonable and staff are very friendly. As of July 6, 2017, the position on Google maps is wrong. It is approx 50m west across from Somphamit guesthouse. Took us a while to find it.

Food is delicious, we ate here several times. We had massaman and yellow curry, the steam fish in banana leaf, sweet and sour chicken. I normally find sweet and sour too sweet but this was a perfect blend. Everything is cooked to order and you can watch them cook in the open air kitchen. Very clean. Staff and owner are very friendly and kind. They want you to enjoy your time there. We were invited to the temple to celebrate a Buddhist holiday. Highly recommend this place!

We fell in love with this restaurant. It is a culinary highlight of the 4000 islands and should not be missed. This was our favorite restaurant in Southeast Asia due to the food as much as the owner (in 2.5 months of traveling). The food is delicious and the atmosphere is relaxing. The owner is incredibly kind and helpful. We did not use their other services, but they also offer lodging and a massages.

We tried several other places on the island, but nothing compared to this restaurant. We ate here for several meals, and almost stayed longer just to enjoy more of the wonderful food. Every meal we had to eat was prepared to perfection from the flavors to the presentation. Ask the owner about local specialty dishes. The restaurant has amazing ambiance. The area is clean, manicured, comfortable, and relaxing. Furthermore, you can watch the food being prepared in the outdoor kitchen, which makes dinner more entertaining.

The owner, Done, is local to the 4000 islands (from Don Khong). His sister (who worked in the food industry in Thailand for many years) also works at the restaurant. His english is good, he is friendly, and helpful. We had some great conversations with Done about where to go, what to see, and even helped us book the local ferry. He studied massage in Thailand for several years and based on the meticulous attention to detail at the restaurant, I imagine the other services offered here are excellent.

Only open since April 2016. Extremely good massaman curry and delicious complimentary sticky rice with mango afterwards. Clean, and friendly service. Highly recommended!
