The location is correct, right on the lake. Nice place with nice owners. Food is good and rooms are nice.

It is on the lake. Lovely if there's a downpour! Super nice Vietnamese family running the place.
Mosquito net was effective. Bed, pillows, and blanket were nice enough. Sheets and towels were clean. Hot water and water pressure were great!
Didn't eat here, so I don't know the food prices. Vietnamese drip coffee was 5k.
Could get a bit noisy, depending on the clientele and the day of the week.response / report this review -

Can confirm the location on the south side of the lake.
Nice room, furnished (even carpet on the floor), mosquito net above the bed, attached bathroom. Water refill available.
However
- no door between the room and the bathroom, so mosquitos from the bathroom can get to the room
- the room was quite hot, but no fan (nor AC)
- no mosquito nets in the windows
- noise in the morning, likely over the lake from other parts of the town, starting before/around 6:30. It was like loud broadcast of two or three different laotian radio or TV channels at the same time.
Restaurant was apparently pricy (bottle of water 10000 kip).
The asked price for the room was 70000, we bargained to 60000 kip with no wifi.
The stuff was not very friendly either.
Only 2 stars - we would rather look for another place next time.response / report this review -

Contrary to the previous reviewer (Jake Mead), I can confirm that Saylomyen Guesthouse is exactly where it is labelled on google maps on the south side of the small lake - not across from any gas station or as shown in his photo. He must have been reviewing a different guesthouse. This was my first stop in Laos on the motorbike after touring Vietnam - I was informed by immigration at Na Meo that Viang Xai had the closest hotel - boy did I luck out with Saylomyen Guesthouse. Very friendly hosts and extremely charming small room over the water. So beautiful to wake up and look out the window at the golden skies over the water.

Хороший гестхаус находящийся прямо на озере.
При спросе, предлагают цену в 70 000 кип, но!! Но вы говорите 60 000. Больше не платите. У них даже в прайс-листе написано 60 000.
Ваши окна будут выходить на воду и под ногами тоже будет вода.
Номера хорошие за свою цену.
Вай фай, душ, розетки.

The pictures of the lake are misleading. It's not actually situated on the lake. The guest house is opposite behind the petrol station! The lady in charge doesn't speak English but we managed to communicate and I got a decent room for myself for 50k which I thought was ok!
Shame I'm not with someone else because the room has 2 beds!response / report this review -
