Excellent stay for the price. Private room was 100k kip (as of Dec. 2017) and the surrounding were gorgeous. Would DEFINITELY stay here again.

Awful. I stayed there with a few people I'd met briefly whilst travelling. After 2 nights we all went our separate ways, but I stayed in Vang Vieng in a different (cheaper) hostel. The next day I went to collect my laundry from Riverside and the owner refused to give it to me until I paid another 50,000 kip. Someone in our group hadn't paid, but I had. He told me it wasn't his problem. After 20 minutes of arguing he finally gave it back to me, but several items (my towel, a dress) were missing. Poor service, confusing rules and downright rudeness. Avoid at all costs.
