Clean and comfortable rooms, hot shower, very good value for 60k kip. Also, the food is really tasty with big portions and reasonable prices. It's all you really need to have a nice time in this area :) highly recommended!

After 15 mins of wait of room cleaning( they didn’t have the room yet prepared) , the guy told me he just had a phone from his cousin and I can not occupy the room. And finally after insisting a lot he said I could have the room for myself. That’s not even normal. The town was fully booked.

Stayed 3 days in Room 4 on the end with views out onto their farm and community pond. Fan room was older but nice, had a large single and king bed, and was clean. Shower was hot and functional. Wi-Fi in room was best I'd found in a while. 60000 kip per night.

Owners are friendly with good english and restaurant had decent servings of exceptional wholesome food with a great selection of vegetarian options, available until 9ish.

You can also buy fruit and vegetables at resonable prices off seller that provides to restaurant ( Hard to find elsewhere )

Suggestion if going to Thakhek by bus; catch 630am Tuk Tuk service from eco lodge to Vieng Kham and then wait for a big bus to come along. (They stop for toilet and food lady break here) VIP cost 30k p.p.compared to 25k for tuktuk. Well worth it.

Giving a 4 because the wi-fi which you only get in the resto is rather not so good.

For the rest everything and everybody is perfect for a place you pay 50,000 for a fan room.

One more thing: they offer good food at a good price but annoyingly some time they will not take your order so you will have to go to an other restaurant.

Khong Lor Village is approx. 1 km from the cave entrance and is an easy walk along a sealed road to the kiosk and departure area. Accommodation in Khong Lor is all guesthouse style with prices ranging from 50,000 LAK – 80,000 LAK. For convenience, staying at the ECO-LODGE Guesthouse is highly recommended as this is the drop off and departure point for the daily bus to and from Vientiane/Thakhek. The guesthouse has clean and comfortable rooms, free WIFI in the restaurant, and the food is good. The manager also speaks reasonable English and is able to answer most inquiries.

The Kong Lor Eco Lodge is located just 1 kilometer from the Kong Lor cave. A double deb room is 50.000 kip a day. Food is available at the restaurant. The food is very decent and normally priced. From the Eco Lodge there is transport to Viengkham, which is located on the junction of highway 8 and 13, from where you can take the bus to Vientiane or Pakse.

We arrived via bus directly from Vientiane, the bus pulls in to the "Eco Lodge" and this is the formal drop off point. We opted to stay here at a cost of only 50k Kip a night which is very reasonable. There is no WiFi in the rooms, and during our stay the WiFi didn't work in the restaurant either. The rooms are nice if just a little old, but they do the job perfectly well. I wouldn't suggest eating here, I would try another location as the food takes quite a while as this is their family kitchen as well a cafe. The people are friendly who work here but communication with regards to getting a tuk tuk to leave was quite a challenge and it was only luck in the end that we managed to flag one down.
