Very nice, but no picture taking inside Not sure why because it does not look too dusty, and I did not see any cobwebs, or other imperfections the staff do not want documented. Oh well, it's still nice.

This building is also not as grand like some other temples (or cathedrals, or mosques) in some other parts of the world, but it is still pretty.

This temple is located within the palace compound, currently a museum.
There are 2 entrances, one near the morning market, the other one near the foot of Mount Phousi.
The latter is guarded by a police officer and the gate is closed around noon.
The temple is decorated by intricate carvings painted in gold.
You can get a nice view of it from Mount Phousi staircase with blue background of the sky.
There is no hawker in the compound.

Eye-catching temple within the Royal Palace complex. Footwear is not allowed on the temple premises and the floor exposed to the sun can get quite hot so it’s a good idea to visit in the early morning just as the place is opening.

Beautiful Royal Buddhist temple built for housing the famous Phra Bang, the national treasure and the symbol for the right to rule Laos country. Too bad this temple is only open for sightseeing from outside only.

Haw Phabang (หอพระบาง), located in front of the Royal Palace Museum, was intentionally built to enshrine Prabang (พระบาง) the most sacred Buddha statue of Laos; but in fact Prabang has been housed in the Royal Palace Museum since then. When visiting Haw Prabang I saw only the empty imprint, but it was gorgeously and very beautiful.

If you asked me if I had a favorite temple, Haw Pha Bang would be my answer every single time. It’s located in the grounds of the Royal Palace in Luang Prabang, Laos and it is one of the most visually stunning temples I have seen throughout South East Asia. With its tiered roof glistening in the sunshine and intricately carved wooden door contrasting against the ornate gold which covers the majority of the front of the structure – it’s a beautiful and breathtaking sight. Haw Pha Bang was built to house Loas’ most revered Buddha image, the Phra Bang Buddha – for which the town was named after and is spectacular both inside and out which ensures its status as a national treasure.
