The manor house sits on beautiful grounds that exhibit the natural beauty of the island. Inside is a demonstration of The local artisans batik process.
I loved this place, beautiful gardens, old rum buildings. A 400 year old tree that looks like it could be around another 400 years. Come when the cruise ships are not in port & you will have the place to your self.
One of the main attraction during the island tour, the Romney Manor is a splendid garden with a lot of species of trees and plants but the main attraction in my opinion is the 400 years old Saman tree. There is also a bar with a overlook terrace where you can see the panorama of Wingfield Estate sugar plantation ruins and the surrounding of the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park.
We had a taxi excursion with a tour of the island and this was one of the stops picked up on our tour which I can say is a ‘must see’ on this island. The garden is very beautiful with several different types of palm trees as well as other local fauna, flowers and tropical vegetation. During the stop here we have been presented the process of batik and artisanal items manufacture, which uses wax and dyes to make beautifully patterned fabrics.
Beautiful area. Picturesque and historic. If you've never been to St. Kitts before, take the full island tour and enjoy Romney Manor along with many other sights.
Breathtaking! The fabrics are so vibrant and Beautiful! The items are pricey compared to the cheap places at other stops, but it is great qaualiy, and it helps the local economy.
We hired a taxi to give us a tour of the island and this was one of the stops he made for us. The gardens are simply beautiful with several different types of palm trees as well as other local fauna. We also learned a little history related to the process of batik, which uses wax and dyes to make beautifully patterned fabrics, and picked up a couple items in the gift shop. I would tag this as a "must-see" when you visit the island.
Beautiful gardens worth the trip
Beautiful place to visit, in an elevated position on the island. Lovely Batik products for sale in the store.
We visited here as part of our Island tour. Very well kept gardens and plants.
Nice spot lots of hummingbirds.
Well kept location
There are gardens if you like plants, however, the products made and sold are way overpriced. Its mainly about the trees an shrubs around the estate
Nice place to go.
We visited as part of the tour of the island and it's beautiful, full of history.
beautiful historic place
