The Mad Monkey was a great hostel to stay at during my time in Siem Reap. The location was right near all the action Siem Reap provides. The facility was well maintained, had a great vibe both inside and out, and the private rooms were great and reasonably priced. I met several fellow travelers while staying there and had no trouble finding it again after a long night out on the town. The staff made sure things were going smoothly for me as well. Big shout out to Breanna who works there! She was very fun and made the evenings and pub crawls a blast! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fun time while in Sienna Reap.

Cool place. It's their second hostel I've stayed at (earlier in Phnom Penh). If you want to have a good sleep either get yourself some best ear plugs available on the market or choose some other place elsewhere. Very loud music from the rooftop bar till midnight. After that crowds of drunk people walking around corridors.

Excellent place to meet fellow travelers from around the world and have an amazing time!! Perfect location if you're staying in Siem Reap: walking distance to Pub Street and a quick tuk tuk ride to all the temples in the Angkor Complex. Awesome pool, and an amazing rooftop sand bar! Thank you to the amazing staff for an unforgettable experience!!

Excellent hostel. If you're sociable and up for a bit of a party you'll enjoy this place. Front desk staff were welcoming and helpful, and the food from the rooftop was superb. Cheap beers, good people, great atmosphere. Had a blast at this hostel.

Amazing place for backpackers. Room price is reasonable. Really cool place to relax and had amazing time with talking and drinking with other guest members. Roof top restaurant is very unique with sand covered floor and lots of drinking games which helps u to know other guests with drinking and dancing

It was an awesome time here at Mad Monkey. Brilliant vibe. Stayed longer than i had originally planned.
the place, staff, activities, bar & food, location; everything contributed to a memorable stay.
Letting your hair down here is so easy and then you get to come back to a very clean and tidy room that the cleaning staff makes sure smells great too!

Great hostel. Really fun vibe, every night there were cool people to meet and fun to be had.
The actual rooms were clean but not the most modern, but the communal spaces were fun, with cool decorations and the staff were absolutely great. Brilliant location right in the centre of town so I felt completely safe wandering around at all hours alone.
I had a great time and partied far harder than I was expecting too

Great hostel with everything you need. The staff is amazing. Ellie is SO amazing and helpful with any and everything you could possibly need to plan. The rooms are clean and so are the showers. The beds are super comfortable also. The restaurant is convenient and has great food options. The bar and pool are a ton of fun and only add to the already great atmosphere.

Amazing social and party hostel great staff great crowd pool bar and rooftop bar the best places to just hang out n have a drink and socialize couldn't recommend it any lesser I've stayed there 3 times over the year and will continue to whenever I go to Siem Reap dorms and private rooms are clean beds comfortable enough if the main purpose is just to sleep lol havent tried for other stuff..

Like all the others MM hostels, it's a really go place to stay if you like partying!
Rooms are big and clean and, as always, they have a pool. The sandy rooftop bar it's super nice

I stayed two nights here, one night in an all girls dorm and a second night in a mixed dorm. The all girls dorm wasn't as nice as our mixed dorm (less space, less clean) but it did have a lighted mirror in it. The pool side is a great way to meet new people, have a drink, and of course have a swim, although the water isn't the cleanliest.

THE BAD: When we got here the AC wouldn't work for a bit and then the toilet handle is broken so we have to manually flush the toilet by opening the tank and pulling a chain.. the shower is directly next to the toilet so when you need the bathroom either to shower or whatever, you pretty much have to lock out everyone from using the sink or toilet etc. until you're done, and when you shower, water obviously spews everywhere so you're getting the toilet wet and any items that might be in there (stash away the toilet paper before showering so it doesn't get soaked since it's all in the same room). The water itself makes your hands hair and skin smell like metal as I've asked others too and they had the same issue, must be the metal piping, sounds harmful to health. Also, the power went out once when I was showering, so I got cold water and darkness the rest of my shower.

THE GOOD: the food here is amazing and cheap, fast service and drinks are super cheap too (but I wouldn't get the Bloody Mary). The layout of the place is cool with a bar on the top floor where the floor is sand. This place is definitely good for party people and they have activities every day like barhopping one day and free keg the next. Free shots every night at the rooftop. And the pool has a bar of it's own with beanie bags.

Had a great time in this hostel, they organised good trips at reception. Most importantly the barmen always made sure we were having a good time with free shots and free beer every night. The American barman John, who ran the pub crawl, organised cool drinking games and generally kept everyone happy and suitably boozy (though there was no pressure to drink).

Awesome place to stay for any age group! Second time we stayed here we brought our 6 adolescent kids along who were amused and entertained as much as we were. Great atmosphere,great food, great staff 😆

Friendly and helpful staff, cheap drinks, and a nice pool (which is an excellent commodity given the infernal heat in Siem Reap). The bar upstairs is nice too!
As for the rooms, the beds are big and confortable, and they are equipped with AC.
I am giving the hostel 4 stars only because of the fact that the pool closes at 7, otherwise, great hostel to stay at

Basic service, good staff. But the guests here weren't too friendly. Just talked or started amongst themselves. I also didn't end up making any friends or connections because of the reputation the place has got for its parties.

The rooms were clean and had all the basic amenities like hot water shower or clean sheets. But, it doesn't have driving water dispensers. To lock our lockers, we need to bring our own padlocks. Both these details weren't mentioned clearly before booking.

Incredible place, with amazing people. The staff was really friendly and the atmosphere of the place was just great! Friendly for solo travelers.

Such a great place! The staff are all super friendly and the bar has great food. A little more expensive than the streets, but the portion sizes and quality are on point so I didn't mind. Definitely recommend to anyone traveling that wants somewhere safe and friendly to meet other travelers.
