Its really affordable. A little rustic, but the great hospitality more than makes up for it. We were made very welcomed every step of the way. Highly recommended!

The staff of the Golden Butterfly were an absolutely treat and were so friendly! What a way to start our trip overseas. Everyday we were greated with warm welcomes and smiles! We recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice place to stay in Siem Reap. Walking distance to pub street, the markets and shops, the location can't be beat! The breakfast was sufficient and rooms were nice, great place to stay! Thanks Golden Butterfly!!

I like the atmosphere of this hotel. The staff are nice. They have competitive price with one free massage so if you are not really picky about the quality, I think it's a good option for you.

Location was good, very close to Pub Street and the Night Market. But it is right next to a school so there will be children outside playing. However, the hotel had more mosquitoes in it than on the street outside, beware.

Also, the staff did not communicate well - when dropping off laundry they said it would be ready later that day, but when we went to pick it up they said it wouldn't be ready until the next day and that we misheard them.

They offer 1 free massage per customer which was decent but again when we confirmed a time with them then went to them at that time they said they weren't available then and that they had actually said a later time.

There are no elevators so be ready for stairs. There is air conditioning, and they give you 2 DVDs about Angkor Way and the The Killing Fields. The power went out for about half an hour during our last evening there.

Overall, the experience wasn't terrible but I wouldn't stay there again. The location is the major draw but there are other hotels around.

Incredibly diligent and friendly service. The hotel provides a wealth of useful information useful for your stay in Siem Reap. The staff are courteous and professional who appear dedicated to ensuring tourists are informed and have a comfortable stay, with information on local tourist scams and negotiating a fair price with tuk tuk drivers for your visits to Angkor. Rooms are clean and well appointed for the price. If I ever revisit Siem Reap, I'll have no hesitation in returning to Golden Butterfly Villa.

Nice clean hotel with good service.
Breakfast is pretty good.
There are connected balconies if you stay in a room with balcony, so there is a possibility that someone "can visit you".
Also the hotel provide you a safe but it didn't work in our room they never fixed it.
I guess it's just a hotel thing but they try to sell you their service and don't suggest you any other good options.

The staff here are the biggest asset. Specifically Mr. Chen but all who had the opportunity to address us were amazing. Beautiful, upgraded hotel in a quiet nook very near Pub Street & multiple night markets.

If booking & unable to climb to the fifth floor without an elevator you will want to email or call only because they have rooms on that floor..

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ! !

This is such a lovely place. You will be welcomed with cool towels for your face and hands, a very tasty welcome drink and a few snacks. The staff is the nicest and most helpfull you can imagine. I felt like home since the first minutes.
The rooms are very nice. A comfortable bed, a big shower and a safe in the room.
The massage was a very new experience for me, as I never had a traditional Khmer massage before.
But besides all the help we got while we stayed there with regard to booking a driver, tour guide and transportation to Phnom Penh, the most amazing aspect for us was, that we were treated for our complete stay as if we just arrived. Everyday when you come back from a hot day, you are welcomed by those cooled towels, someone inviting you to take a seat and a cold ice tea.
If we ever come back to Siem Reap we will for sure stay here again.

This was the first hotel in years which really earned it 5 star rating and shows what is possible. The service was outstanding never experienced service like that before. They are always friendly and helpful. The food is quite good. In the room price are a lot of extras included like a great massage. The breakfast was really good and the tours they organized for us was also great.
The room was big and the bed really comfortable. Also we had a great view from the balcony. To summarize it: We had an awesome time!

Golden Butterfly Villa was a highlight of our trip. We enjoyed the comfortable rooms, massage and restaurant meals, but the best aspect was certainly the accomodating hotel staff. They were very friendly, considerate of guest needs and always welcoming. Mr Sak and co made our hotel stay in Siem Reap a wonderful experience. The location is close to Pub Street and markets, and there is a cafe around the corner that is popular with tourists.
