Good place to stay.
Staff were amazingly helpful and even walked us to the bus station! Room was good and clean, definitely recommend
Good option in Battambang - value for money!
Location is central, shops and restaurants within walking distance.
Rooms could be updated but they are quite clean and comfortable. They have a fridge. In the room which was useful for us.
Staff seem shy and don't speak English very well so just need to take a bit of extra time to communicate with each other.
Bonus - Capitol Bus company is right next to the hotel. We used this when leaving Battambang to travel to Phnom Penh. You go to the office and they transport you in a minivan to the main bus stop which is outside the city centre.
Please note if you arrive into Battambang using Capitol Bus, then you will be dropped outside the city centre and have to arrange a tuk tuk into the centre yourself.
Very basic. Have to eat elsewhere. Room quite dark. Only some have windows. Ours did. We only stayed one night as we are touring. Clean and tidy. Staff very friendly.
This is an old hotel, the room was clean but came with a very nostalgic yellow color. The curtains are yellow, windows blurry and yellow-ish, and even the light was white-yellow-ish. The staff was friendly, but one of them kept asking me what I was doing for the day and if I needed any tours, which was annoying. Printing is at 500 riel per page if you need to print anything.
WiFi worked on the first two nights but stopped working on the last day. When it worked it was OK. The air conditioner wasn't working very well in my room, I set it to 22 degrees just to feel it like 27. Everything else worked fine. My room (108) was a bit noisy due to the window facing the warehouse next door.
Lastly, the location isn't great, the pro is that it's literally 30 seconds' walk away from Capitol Bus, the con is that this area isn't safe. I walked at 7 pm to 2 blocks west to the hotel, on my way back to the tela mart at the gas station, I was followed by an intimidating guy for about 20 seconds. He got so close up to me that we were almost shoulder to shoulder. I looked at him. He said something that sounded like swear words, and eventually walked away. There are many trucks and idling truck drivers in the two blocks west to Star Hotel, even during the day you can feel that this are is a bit shady, let alone at night. I was stared by the drivers as I walked past. I didn't see another woman, all men! Be careful!
Good services, nice rooms and reasonable price.
The room is spacious and the bathroom is nice, albeit with what feels like a missing shower curtain. However the bathrooms are wet rooms so making it a bit wet isn't a problem. If you stay here be sure to make sure you are careful getting out the bath onto a wet floor as it is very slippery and the edge of the bath tiling is a bit unforgiving. The breakfast was good, they send you to a nearby hotel with a restaurant but if it is included then there is nothing to pay afterwards. Would recommend.
i give 3 star
Good location, big clean rooms.
