For the price paid, excellent. Stayed at the cheaper budget wing (bookable separately on Agoda), room rate was about US$40 per night. Room was quiet, a bit dark but as I only stayed for one night didn't notice it. No desk in the room and no shower cubicle, but again, this was no issue for a one night stay. All hotel facilities are shared among customers from both the main hotel and the budget one. This means the pool breakfast and casino are all accessible. Breakfast buffet was amazing, by far the best of any hotel I've stayed in Cambodia. I ate 5 full plates and if it wasn't for the fact I was full, would have gone for more. Dinner was nice too, a little pricey for Cambodia but worth it, especially the organic salad from Bokor mountain for US$6. Interesting mix of staff of various nationalities, including one Russian lady and a manager from Malaysia who previously worked at a hotel in Myanmar. He was very friendly and helpful. Would talk to all the guests at breakfast and help them with any issues they were having. Will be back again the future.

My first room was so filled with cigarette smoke, that my eyes hurt by just staying in it. Checked with reception, they said this is a non-smoking resort, but often, Chinese tourists would smoke in the room nonetheless. They changed my room to one that has no smell.
Please do proper enforcement on smokers if this is indeed a non-smoking resort.
I would prefer to have an option to make the room brighter.response / report this review -

Great beach, perfect for R&R. Ocean wing rooms need refurbishment. Room 160 had cracked tiles and black mould in shower from lack of care and cleaning. Hotel aimed at the Chinese Market. Staff varies from wanting to help and cannot do enough for you to ignoring everyone. Would not stay here again.

Beautiful hotel. Cheaper rooms a little run down. Meals are very nice but expensive when compared to the price in town. Fantastic pools and beach with a complete gym facility. All hosts within the hotel are very friendly and helpful

We tried 3 different hotels in Cambodia and comparing the ratio between price and service provided, this place was the worst. Staff was polite but slow. Hotel room looked great but at the second glance it was just a well hidden mess. There was a big bathtub but we could not use it because the water heater was not able to make enough hot water. Cleaner only changed the towels and made up the beds, no other cleaning was done all 5 days of our stay. Part of the hotel complex is still being built and the construction works from dusk to dawn, so it can get noisy. I am not saying this hotel is bad but they should either improve their services or go down with the price. I must not forget to mention that all food was delicious and very good quality.

The hotel is divided up into difference sections however they share the same facilities, restaurants spa etc.
We stayed in a "water" chalet, which was one of the more expensive options.
On arrival we were told about the construction work both on site and from neighbouring developments. Pre-warning at the time of booking should become part of the policy as so many people will have been disappointed at their 'luxury Christmas getaway.'
Huge concrete blocks. Heavy machinery. Noisy and an eyesore, not what you expect when you're paying several hundred dollars per night which by Cambodian standards is extremely high. I appreciate outside development is beyond the hotels control, but the huge construction within the resort is another thing altogether.
The hotel actually offered to downgrade our room without compensation to move us away from the construction it was a standard room in the hotel block, basic / fine just not what we'd booked and paid for- after a 3hour wait in reception we were finally put in an 'upgraded' chalet.
Internally it was extremely inferior to our originally booking but there was a jacuzzi on the balcony which overlooked the swamp. We thought it would be romantic to have a Christmas jacuzzi together (in the dark to avoid the disappointment of the view) and with a glass of bubbles, however the water jets chucked out sewage and dirty water and bugs when it was turned on. Some upgrade!
The interior of the chalet was like most of the hotel, tired. 5stars in its day perhaps. Doors drop and fall from the hinges when opened. The Shower which is only so so, overflows and some kind of beetle/roach creature appears floating around the tray - from the drains I assume?
The drapes around the bed were chewing gum white - aka grey. Fit for the bin. Tatty robes, no slippers. Rotting flowers. Wardrobe doors removed from the runners, sticking drawers etc.
They were no less than 8,000 light switches in the room, it became some kind of game to find the right one and what seemed like the elusive master switch. It became particularly difficult because half of the bulbs didn't work however the other half flicked on and off, silver lining: disco lighting - complementary.
As for it being a "water" chalet it's a swamp chalet. Surrounded by dirty smelly water which is littered.
The banks in the swamp are frequently occupied by locals, fishing and enjoying the "private" beach, they bring along a lot of cheer and some kind of subwoofer for their stereo. Not quite the peace we imagined.
I can't blame them, the beach was really beautiful.
However it was a welcome change to the onsite Chinese restaurant which held a private function. They had what sounded like an open mic night. Due to finish at 10pm (according to the notice we had delivered), instead it finished closer to midnight on Xmas Eve. It really was extremely loud but we did have a giggle at the singing in our desperate attempt to find some kind of silver lining in the disappointment that was Sokha beach.
The AC unit is also really noisy, probably because it's on its last legs, judging by the rust and tattered look of it.
The key card / lock to our room stopped working and we were left outside waiting for someone to help for almost an hour.
Housekeeping left the door to the balcony unlocked.
The straw that broke the camels back was the food poising from Christmas brunch. At $60 a pop, it included free flow bubbles (yay) and the left overs (nay) from the Christmas Eve 🏀 buffet. They told us this, although it was also obvious having seen the excellent presentation of the food at the Xmas Eve Ball, and the sad wilted salmon roses, dried up food and crumby platters of the following day. My partner ended up in bed all Boxing Day violently ill, he ate the shellfish and I didn't, and we can only put it down to that.
On the plus, spa was nice, not ambient but the therapists know what's what.
Food was for the most part good.
Great breakfast selection.
Friendly staff, they smile in the very face of complaints, apologise and walk off.response / report this review -

Hotel was perfect. Service even better. If you like a good room, take Ocean Wing Deluxe. Breakfast was excellent. There is also free shuttle bus to the town, which in my opinion can travel bit often and to other parts of the small city as well.
Resort territory is huge, but you can use buggy cars with drivers to move around. 3 great restaurant in territory etc.
Only thing what can be better, is the wifi connection. Otherwise super hotel.response / report this review -

At least they clean this beach . Only the small easter corner is open to public. Private hotel owns the rest of beach. If you buy something you are very welcome to go in to middle of beach $$$ all about the. $ .in cambodia

A very nice modern resort with several bars & restaurants, a couple of nice swimming pool areas, and a large well-kept private beach. We stayed in one of the upper-end villas and it was beautiful - Asian style room with a hot tub in the middle and a tv opposite. Only issue was that the little lake it's built over looked quite dirty and spoiled the scenery somewhat. As expected everything is pretty expensive here (for Sihanoukville) but you're not too far from the main tourist area (Serendipity). If you're looking for a little luxury during your stay then stay at Sokha for sure.

An escape from real life sihanoukville, with prices to match. The place is excellent but day passes for $20 for the pool and the inflated food prices.

It's a slightly old resort. Good value for the facilities provided. Beach is kept very clean by the staff. Staff are incredibly helpful. Only problem was the cleanliness of restrooms.

Old resort at a high price. They have claimed the public beach as their own and have barred people from"trespassing". The only good thing is that they keep the beach clean, unlike most public bleaches.

Biggest beachfront resort hotel in Sihanoukville. Quiet environment, with different restos to suit your taste. I especially liked their poolside snackbar, very relaxing view. Nice place to hang around while waiting for sunset. The staff and supervisor on duty that time were very accommodating. I've enjoyed my snack/early dinner that afternoon. :-)

We stayed at the Sokha Beach Resort after being in Seim Reap and Phnom Penh, so we wanted some luxury to end our holiday. What we got was a very nice hotel, quite large, not many staying there, it seemed to be fairly quiet. As we arrived by private transfer we seemed to be fast tracked through check-in, which was very good.
Our room was lovely, with a huge comfy bed and a good sized bathroom with two showers, balcony had a nice garden view.
The pool area was really nice and it had a bar and snack-bar next to it. We ate here quite a bit as it was easiest when you've been on the beach (which is quite stunning) or by the pool all day.
A Chinese restaurant and another beach-side dining area were else-where further through the lush gardens. However, when we went to dinner on the first night we more or less guided to a seat in the Buffet Restaurant, where we found a extremly limited choice on offer, and given that it was $30USD +service + vat per head we both expected more, and considered this to be far too expensive. Something more like what you get in an all inclusive hotel from the Carribean would have been more acceptable and preferable.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. we would like to be sure that the compulsory service charge does go to the staff, as they really are the hotels best resource.
We liked the hotel but did not like the lack of a mainstream, well stocked restaurant, and that would make us look elsewhere in future.response / report this review -

One of the cleanest beaches in town. Keep in mind, it's a "private" beach though. But you won't find one cleaner in sihanoukville unless you head to the islands.
