Beautiful waterfalls but a little crowded. Makes sure you have suitable shoes as the terrain is rocky and you'll be looking at some decent climbs on the way up. Entry fee was 20$.you can also have a swim if you are up for it. Many foodstalls on the way where you can try some local food or do some cheap native shopping

Waterfall is a big tourist trap. Big buddha and Linga (shrines under water) are worth to visit and not too crowded. $20/person to enter the national park.

Excellent park. Do not drive yourself - hire a tour. It's worth every penny. $20 entrance fee and $15 tour is the deal of a century. The waterfalls are brilliant. 1000 carvings in a river is ok but you still don't want to miss it. This trip exposes you to rural Cambodia and some great archaeology. Highly recommended.

My visit to Phnom Kulen was somewhat disappointing. Tourists have to pay a $30 cover charge to enter which is supposed to pay for the upkeep of the road to the mountain and cleanup. The road was in the most terrible condition!!! If you're not driving an off-road truck, you will not be able to pass The mountain is crowded with local vendors selling bones, ivory and artifacts of suspicious origin. On the way up I've seen quite a few small children (aged 5-8) performing heavy digging on the dirt road. Terrifying! The place is crowded with Korean and Chinese tourist and there is a lot of garbage lying around. Why, oh why would anybody treat this holy Khmer site like this? The reclining Buddha is a cite to see, although somewhat overrated. The view above the jungle is spectacular. What saved my trip was the waterfall! Stunning and magnificent! Bathing under the roaring water was a blast and the fish tend to nib on your feet a fair bit.

Easy trail, seen people of all ages hike here. Well marked trail and it's well maintained.The sites are below the canopy for the most part; follow the water and you'll fine the ruins. There's a few sit down restaurants near the entrance area, they're ok, best to bring your own food and water (won't need a lot unless you plan to picnic).

Phnom Kulen National Park is a National park in Cambodia. It is located in the Phnom Kulen (Khmer: ភ្នំគូលេន) mountain massif in Siem Reap Province. During Angkorian era the relief was known as Mahendraparvata (the mountain of Great Indra) and was the place where Jayavarman II had himself declared chakravartin (King of Kings), an act which is considered the foundation of Khmer Empire. Phnom Kulen National Park is located in Svay Leu District about 50 km from the provincial town of Siem Reap and about 25 km from Prasat Banteay Srey via Charles De Gaulle Road.

Great destination to visit if you go to Siem Reap province. It is combination of nature(forest with waterfall, religion(a big Buddhist statue on the top on mountain), you can swim in the small lake under the water fall, it was a river with a statue at the bottom with its story then you can go to pray at the building of the Buddhist statue you can enjoy to eat your food under the tree, along the river with many types of street foods or even ordered food by cook the environment is great. Highly recommended!

This is a place which has 1200 years of history. Our tour guide Sem Vuthy has very good knowledge of this place, in fact Sime Reap as a whole, gave us detail explanation of Phnom Kulen.

Holy worship center for your Buddhist faithfuls. Waterfall is crowded with swimmers. If you want to swim, don't forget to bring swimsuits, or you can rent..lush tropical landscape. Very humid in July.

A wonderful slice of nature, culture, history, and religion with a surprise dose of anthropology and (for the well informed who've done their homework) high tech imaging. Meandering trails take you to waterfalls, trickling spring-feed streams, and wonder of wonders ancient stone linga carvings in, around, and under the water. You must do your homework to fully appreciate this gem and to know that what is visible today is the tip of the proverbial iceberg compared to what lies buried underfoot. I was lucky to be there on a school holiday and let a group of youngsters convince me to run under the waterfall with them. We laughed as barriers of age and language dissolved beneath the torrent of cool water on our backs. A special memory I'll hold dear.

We went during the dry season so the waterfalls doesn't look as nice. But it was still a great thing to see.
What I liked most was the Buddhist temple. But be advised that most of the people at the temple don't understand English. So a few things: change out your dollars for around $3 to $5 worth of kiel to offer, buy a bouquet of flowers, and take your shoes off when you reach the top.

A mix of interesting Cambodian cultures (River of a Thousand Penises), beautiful scenary (waterfalls) and great hiking. A bit touristy but well worth a visit.
