The best eco-tourism hotel resort in Mondulkiri! Ideal for couples or for family trip.
The hotel is nicely located in a hill with good view. The service is great, staffs always do their best in assisting you during your stay. The vegetation is well preserved, and yet they managed to squeeze in a small infinity pool and a playground for children.
Wifi is available and what I appreciate most is the cleaningness of the rooms, cleaningness of the hotel restaurant.
In terms of activities, if you like ecotourism and some adventure, there is a nice waterfall not far with ziplines. There are forests for trekking and some elephants to visit. I heard there will soon be some rafting to play also. If you like nature, this is the place. Enjoy it while it is still pretty untouched.

When we arrived at the resort, we were greeted by a single person in the parking entrance, which happened to also be the only staff at the reception. When we asked to book a room, he told us we were too much, even thought the online booking websites allowed it by adding an extra bed, which was an option. Even without the extra bed, the room was big enough to fit us all as we visited the room to make sure. Nonetheless, he still refused us and we were forced to leave. His only alternative was to book another room (2 in total), which was very far from the initial room. Not very convenient as most of our party members were UNDER-AGED. Please review your single staff and his decision making.

I gave this resort 4 stars. Of course this place cannot compete with "real" 4 star resorts. The bathrooms are dirty in the corners, the drains are clogged, the staff is unattentive, the restaurant floor is a mess, some food is just reheated, the rooms are not cleaned and refilled with drinking water every day and the pool area is running out of towels at 5pm without anyone noticing. The whole place is a bit run-down and could use some sweeping and fresh paint at some places.
But, and that is quite a but, it's still phantastic. You're in the middle of nowhere in one of the poorest countries on earth. You have elegant, modern and spacious private villas with patios and huge bathrooms with hot and cold water all day long. You have a restaurant with an astonishing menu, great local food and good wine at extremely fair prices. You have a great view into the jungle with all its shades of green and all its noise at night which is just wonderful to watch from the bar deck with a glass of red whine. There is plenty of space ro walk around, enjoy the scenery and also there is a playground, a sports court and a gym. You have a large swimming pool with crystal clear water to enjoy after a hot day.
So after all it is pure luxury and staying here is very recommended if you want to enjoy a "5-star-adventure" in Cambodia.

I'm willing to overlook the fact that the power was janky and inconsistent. I'm willing to overlook the fact that there were rat feces on the booths in the restaurant and in our room. I'm willing to overlook the fact that a lot of the meat served on the dinner menu tasted like it was carved out of one of Michael Vick's pitbulls.
Here's what I can't overlook
When you're in the hospitality business, your main job is to create a hospitable environment for your guests. The manager here did the complete opposite of this.
When my wife and I arrived at the resort, we were "greeted" by an unsmiling, stone-faced English employee named Jamie, who immediately started quizzing us on our knowledge of Cambodia's war history and America's role in the conflict. When our answers weren't up to his standards, he stared at us with his creepy, unblinking eyes, looking like a serial killer from a low-budget BBC show with a name like "The Hardybutts Street Murders", and went on a monologue about America's military industrial complex. In other words: exactly the welcome a weary traveler wants after five hours on the road!
Can you imagine what it'd be like if Jamie somehow got hired at other hotels around the world?
Jamie (working at a resort in Mexico): "Welcome to Casa Del Mar Golf Resort And Spa! You don't look like you know enough about the history of the narco-wars and the CIA's secret partnership with Pablo Escobar. Shall I spend the afternoon telling you about it?"
Jamie (working at a hotel in Dublin): "Welcome to Contarf Castle! We are located three blocks from the fish-and-chips shop where 12 adults and an unborn baby were killed by an IRA bomb in 1974, but I don't suppose you care about that sort of thing. Will you be needing one key or two?"
Jamie (working at a hotel in Seoul): "Welcome to the Plaza Seoul! You probably don't know that South Korea has the world's second highest rate of suicide. People are killing themselves every day here, and not just the ones who have to interact with me."
After that first day, every time we left our room, we felt a sense of dread. "What happens if we run into Jamie? What if he wants to talk at us again?"
On our a second day, after a lovely day spent hanging out with the animals at the Elephant Valley Project, our afternoon took an unfortunate turn when we failed to avoid Jamie on our way back to our room. He cornered us and launched into a thrilling discussion about Why Donald Trump Isn't Racist. During which Jamie spouted off pearls of wisdom like "He only said SOME Mexicans are rapists."
Basically, Jamie manages to take everything annoying and self-righteous about a college freshman who's just discovered Noam Chomsky and combine it with the racist idiocy of a Trump supporter. My guess is, he lives in the middle of nowhere because nobody in the developed world wants to hang out with him.
Moral of the story: if you plan on staying at Mayura Hill, call in advance and ask if Jamie still works here. If he does, stay somewhere else.response / report this review -

The bathroom smell due to drainage problem. Breakfast was not good and limited choices. Restaurant cooked basic meal. Over pricing considering the owner paid very low salary to their staffs.
