Very nice Khmer restaurant for foreigners. It provides you with a taste of the great cuisine in Cambodia. Service was great and they also have a good wine selection. The patio is beautiful, very nice ambiance. Would strongly recommend to anyone visiting Phnom Penh. They also have very good business lunch options.

The servants were very friendly, the food was fantastic, the restaurant was beautiful. Highly recommend crab fried rice, fish amok, fried vegetables and fresh juicy. But I don’t like the grilled fish.

Been here twice. As a visitor to the country this is a nice relaxing place for Khmer food cooked in a manner which is presentable. I have been told that this is good food but not 'authentic' Khmer, but then I have also been told that local Khmer food doesn't really exist anymore (although the closest to Malis is Romdeng).
Close to BKK for tourists. Worth a visit.response / report this review -

Food looks fantastic. Watched my guests eat their fill. Had salad which wasn't so tasty. Not as spicy as what i am used to. Noticed a lot of occupied tables even for lunch, mostly by expats. Place seems to be doing quite well. Waiters and waitresses courteous and look well trained. Water glasses constantly refilled. Prices are on the high side. Not a place for normal working class Cambodian folk.

Very nice and fancy restaurant. They serve Khmer dishes. It's more on the expensive side. But the place is really beautiful and the staff are friendly.

The food was okay but the original cocktails were quite memorable!
I went there alone without reservation at the opening time and luckily got the last table to myself. The Soft shell crab on the right was a bit too “deeply fried”, even with the pepper sauce. The beef curry had an impressive spicy taste, yet the meat and the peanuts could be cooked a little longer. The dish just tasted dry and crunchy.
Dessert was okay along with the specialty cocktails. However, with the number of waiters they have, the service could have been more attentive.response / report this review -

One of the best Khmer food in Phnom Penh. The price tag will be in slightly high price, but if you have enough budget, this is definitely worth the visit. Order the Fish Amok, it is the fish meat blend with various herbs is good to go with the piping hot rice. Perfect match!!!
If you have the budget please do visit here, it is good fine dining restaurant with great atmosphere.
If you come with tuk tuk, there are a space for tuk tuk to wait for you after you finish your meal.response / report this review -

Extremely disappointing!
Had to return three orders due to extremely poor meat, in addition being undercooked.
Staff not helpful! While prices are significantly above average for Cambodia, other than ambience, nothing was offered for it!
Stay away and go to a decent local place for a fraction of the cost.

Upscale Khmer restaurant. We tried the duck, the curries and the mango salad they were all really good. They also have brown rice which is not usually available in other restaurants.
Prices are reasonable by western standards. Sitting in the garden is nicer than the indoor seating.response / report this review -

Malis is one of the best breakfast spots in town. Unlike lunches and dinners, breakfast is around 3.5-4$ and comes with free pastry and dessert. A truly amazing place to have breakfast on the weekends.

Been here every time I am in Cambodia. I like the atmosphere and also the friendly staff. Good food reasonable price in my opinion. Outdoor seating in the evening was not too hot. Would visit again for sure.

Delicate Khmer Fusion good. Food are well presented. Nice ambience. Price is not cheap. Excellent service but the set menu that we had the food arriving a little bit slow for each course. Overall experience was impressive.

One of the best restaurants in Phnom Penh I have known so far. In fact I should have rated it 4.5 star to be fair if it were possible. The environment is absolutely great. I love the place, very culturally preserved and the arrangement is cool. I trust the level of hygiene here. The food taste was excellent.
If you were Cambodian living abroad and you return to Cambodia for the first time and miss the locally traditionally dishes or if you are new to Cambodia and wish to try real Khmer food with great hygiene, this place is for you. It's a majestic taste you can find nowhere. I tried a few dishes and all of them were excellent. However, comparing this locally traditional cuisine to other types in this same place, the local one is much more expensive. It's OK, if you just want to try it once or twice a year. If you are looking for a restaurant to eat often, you must be a rich guy.
To sum up, this is a great restaurant in town which is a bit far more expensive.response / report this review -

Malis was one of the few restaurant I found in Cambodia to serve a nice traditional style Khmer breakfast with a good atmosphere. The breakfast menu offering is spectacular and the flavors of the meal were a delight.
Make a reservation, as outdoor garden seating is limited, but it's the best place to kickoff the morning if you can.response / report this review -

We had the discovery menu to give a number of Cambodian classics a try. Everything was excellent - prepared well and very tasty. I suspect this restaurant might be a little touristy given the other diners (who were not locals), but we really enjoyed the food and I would recommend it highly!

You cannot claim you had Cambodian food if you haven't eaten at Malis. Most restaurants catering to tourist are really Thai food masquerading as Khmer food! Most delicious Cambodian food in town made for easy dining. Even the locals take their relatives there. No worries about getting food poisoning or having animal face staring at you while you are about to eat it. No surprising bones to spit out either. Make sure you have plenty of cash ready as the bill will be like any fine dining restaurant.

The environment and exterior & interior decoratio is very good.
However for the food, for my taste it is far below the level of price and quality Malis they are claim I been in Malis 8 years ago, and two times in year 2016. Each time expectations was higher than real food quality. Maybe I'm just unlucky and had not the best of the Malis offerings. You can try yourselfresponse / report this review
