  The location of this hostel is a piece of paradise, the bungalows are basic but nice, food is good, staff is super-friendly, ambience is great, sunset is soooo pretty and you should also check out the luminous fish at night. Piece of advice: take enough cash with you!

  Loved this place! everything about it. From the remoteness to the peaceful and social nature of it. You have an entire beach to yourself, the bungalows are nice and open which means there's a cool breeze at night and no need for a fan.
  
  The food is AMAZING. They have a french chef so the food is a french/cambodian blend. By far the best food we've had all trip! It's a bit more expensive than regular Cambodian prices, but believe me it's worth it.
  
  Still dreaming about this place after weeks of having left. Highly highly recommend!

  best food on the island, best sunsets on the island, and one of the cleaner beaches on the island too. staff can sometimes be a little pushy in trying to get you to buy drinks or food.

  Kactus is a special place on a beautiful remote beach. Rooms and bathrooms are very basic and power/water supply are intermittent but that is what you expect for a remote island. What really stands out is the beautiful sunsets and amazing food. The only compliant is some of the western staff aren’t overly friendly. There is a large group of them which is daunting and they tend to be more focused on their social/hook up lives than guests. That said though, some of the staff are friendly and the managers are doing a great job running this place.

  Well Actually I have no words to describe my stay at "Kactus". Simply "delicious" might maybe fit?
  I took a boat to a calm and small island, reached a beach and discovered "Kactus". because I am mostly very lucky in life I loved the place, the staff, the food and the atmosphere. I hope to be back one day and wish you good luck*

  Have you ever read Robinson Crusoe and dreamt of getting lost in a desert island? Welcome to Ko Ta Kiev. You will find empty beaches, sun and full of star skies! (plus a boat to take you back to reality). But if you want all of this plus a bunch of kind and nice people (Handsome Juan, three crazy Gallegas) to help you, from dusk to dawn cocktails and THE BEST Bistro in all Cambodia make sure to choose Kactus as your spot at the island!

  We didn't stay but we ate in Kactus many times while in Koh Ta Kiev and we thought it was the best place in the island. It's super well organized, and the food is very good! They have 2 or 3 options at night and quite a few for breakfast. All the staff was incredibly nice and interesting! The views of the sunset are stunning. The atmosphere is just cool.. very different people, families, backpackers it's not as laid back as other places. The bungalows and hammocks looked very tidy and the "bathrooms" were quite clean!

  I just visited Kactus for one evening, didnt spend a night. But the general vibe is so cozy and friendly, but not annoying. The layout of the bar is awesome, built on stilts, trees growing through, and you can see and hear the sea. The beach gets cleaned, and is totally empty. Amazing sunset spot. They have organised dinners, and I only saw the plate but it looked amazing, like top restaurant food design, wow. I would go there again, maybe also spend a night.
