  Not a shopping destination. Place looks and feels like an elaborated scam for tourist. When you reach the doors, you are given a tag, and then ushered to a room full of gems and valuables, before asked to take a talk. Walking anywhere except places they want you to is prohibited. Left after less than 5 minutes.

  Today I went shopping for gemstones to add to my collection. I looked at gems in the Angkor Shopping Centre and I was very aĺarmed to find that people selling from there either didn't know what they were talking about or didn't care if they told blatant lies. I was shown 2 stones which the seller claimed were natual yellow sapphires. The smaller stone wieghed in at 3.4ish and the other stone which was twice as large in every dimension, weighed in at less than 3.4c. I told the seller that all sapphire has the same specific gravity and that it was impossible for a the larger stone to weigh less than a stone half of its physical size. I told the seller that I was a gemmoligist and had knowledge of these things. The seller told me some sapphire weights more than other sapphire. I have never heard such rubbish in my life. Keep away from this place because there is a very, very good chance that you will be ripped off.
