Our first lodge on our honeymoon - this was a great start to our safari. The wildlife around the watering hole got better through the evening. Hyenas, warthogs, Rhino and a herd of elephant. All viewed whilst sipping a G&T

Easily the most hideous building in kenya. The lodge is living completely In the past and endlessly tells visitors about how Princess Elizabeth became Queen while she was at Treetops simply because her father died while she was staying at the lodge.

Rooms are small and not easy to move about in - one keeps tripping on something or the other. There are two viewing areas, one covered and one open. Animals which visit are buffalos and elephants and a few birds and antelopes. Rhinos and leopards are rare. The water hole at the lodge is a bit sad devoid of beauty.

There is not much else to do at the Lodge - even walking around within the lodge is prohibited unless you hire an armed guard who charges a thousand KES. The walk is rather sad and follows the perimeter of the Lodge with nothing to see. My guide stopped twice to point out two plants and two birds. The one hour walk was over in 35 minutes.

There is no Library except a collection of guest comments and there are no games.

The dining room is nice and the food is good. Staff are nice.

The lodge can become better if the management becomes forward looking and stops touting its past.

Despite the fact that rooms are very simple and small the place provides absolutely amazing experience. A lot of wild animals come at night. We were quite lucky and have seen large group of elephants (18 at the same time!). They stayed in front of the viewpoint on the rooftop about 2-3 hours so we were able to observe complex behavior of these amazing smart animals.
Later in the middle of the night we have seen 2 black rhinos who also came to the lake in front of hotel.

Unforgettable stay, with sunset lots of animals come to the lodge in search for salt which the staff plants in front of the lodge. We witnessed in total 18 elephants, two rhinos, a few hyenas and lots of buffalos in one night. The ambience reminding of past century travelers is also unique. But do not expect anything outstanding from the menu there. Coffee is good though.

We had a wonderful time at Treetops with picturesque views surrounding us. The waterhole is lit up all night so you could view the animals all through the night but the elephants do keep you awake. The rooms are very small & we were only allowed an overnight bag. Dinner was excellent with good company.

The view of hotel is good ,just rooms are so small. But it's ok, because we are on trees. The staff are friendly, don't forget to tip them after they serviced you .

Really relaxing, the staff are very friendly and informative. The food is great and the scenery is just amazing. You can have your dinner or cocktail while surrounded by elephants and buffalo.
