Unique experience that is totally Africa. Comfortable accommodations, wonderful staff, great food. Staff knocks on your door when your chosen animals come to the watering hole at night!

It's like staying at animal kingdom in Walt Disney world except the real thing. Excellent viewing from the top of the lodge to see elephants, lions and more come out to drink. They even wake you up on request for the animals you wish to see when they come. The food was also exceptional and staff was super friendly.

Serena Mountain Lodge is in a dense green forest built around a watering hole. It is a complete 180 from game drives, as the animals will come to the watering hole. It was uneventful when I went there, but there was good food and rooms. If you go on the nature walk, make sure that your group isn't over 10 people, or else some won't be able to hear the tour guide. Make sure to fill out a form for animal sightings so that if one animal you're interested in is at the watering hole, the staff will knock on your door (even if it's in the middle of the night).

A wonderful, serene and quaint place away from cacophonous city lifevery quite place nestled away in thick forests..best thing- the place is approachable by thick tarmac road to its very gate, which is unlike other such places in Kenya, meaning you can reach this place even in your hatchback or sedan. Roughly 2.5-3 hours drive from Nairobi
The lodge also has a kids room and a very patient and attentive lady to take look after the goods erm.. kids.
    An ideal weekend gateway!!

Awesome place. Wild animals and deep inside forest.
Only downside is the nature walks and drinks which are too expensive.

The hotel services and amenities are top-notch and the staff are very professional. I loved the food, ambience and the great views, There is a water-hole right in front of the hotel and if you are lucky enough you will be able to see herds of elephants, buffaloes, deers, antelopes and many other animals.

Rooms and facilities need to be revitalised. And are tired and run down. The staff are very pleasant and helpful.
