As usual tamarind takes ones breathe away From the décor, to the food, the hospitality is top tier and even more so the entertainment with a live band as you catch a glimpse of the tamarind on the sea as well as the rest of Mombasa beautiful lot and spread while cushioned under the velvety comfort of the starry night

The ultimate in fine-dining on the Kenyan Coast, for a real special seafood treat, the Tamarind is your answer. Enjoy a wide variety of seafood (I had the ginger crab which was absolutely delicious!), while taking in Mombasa's Old Town skyline from across the creek. Sea breezes and superb service complete this delightful culinary treat!

Love spot in Mombasa, the deck for drinks at sunset is nice. The food is good, but not great for the cost. Sunset boat trip was fun, but bit cramped but lovely food, especially impressive as prepared on a boat!

It was cool, and pretty awesome place to be , I'd love to go there again and again, even the staff are so friendly, and the environment is one which you wouldn't want to leave

Had a dinner for 20 on the lower deck of the dhow. The music and food was good but the highlight was the amazing views.

Tip: don't do this when tired, its 4 hours long and good service is slow as they cook live.

Went there last night to celebrate family reunion.
Ambience and setting is beautiful. Services is slow but staff are pleasant. My main gripe is the main dish that two of us ordered- baked salsa fish.
Expected a melt in your mouth , soft and tasty fish with a tomato salsa sauce- instead what arrived was a hard to cut and chew fish with the salsa hardened on top of it and the accompanying risotto almost inedible. I was so hungry that I just ate my fish but my wife was struggling. Called the manager over and showed him the fish - he agreed it wasn’t right.
Offered us a replacement bit it was too late for that . Bill came with 10% off - but that wasn't satisfactory and upon complaining again- they took off one fish and 15% off bill .

You get welcome by a good ambiance and Indian ocean view. It feels like a view from the sky as the restaurant sits high on a plain overlooking the ocean. There is a choice of a wide variety of food and drinks to choose from. Their music is also very important to sample as the DJ would keep you on your feet all night long

Tamarind is a North Coast Staple. A trip to Mombasa is not complete without a visit to Tamarind. It's popular for the dhow where one can enjoy lunch or dinner while taking in the views up and down the coast and listening to live music.

The food, especially the seafood is delectable and the service is top notch but it's going to cost you. The restaurant has gotten a bit worse for ware over the years but the experience is still well worth it.

The food and the restaurant itself was great and I will definitely be back. The service is a bit slow but then it's not somewhere you would go if you were in a hurry.
    I loved it.

Absolutely stunning! The old Swahili architecture and view of the creek is great. The food was amazing, we had starters and dessert and that was plenty. A bit pricey but we'll worth every penny! Great staff
