Great breakfast. Wifi wasn't working though. Can get too noisy during rainy nights.

Was a good gesture though the rooms were stuffy with low maintenance. A place to have a nap while on move.

Rooms not well ventilated, some facilities in the bathroom are in need of repair. There are better hotels at similar prices

I loved it. A classy budget accommodation within Kisumu City's central business district (CBD). It is easily accessible through taxi, foot and driving.

Not the best hotel around, there is always a problem in the rooms. First room i stayed had no water, when I reported it, they moved me to another room. The other rrom had a leaking toilet so the floor was constantly wet. Also the basin was leaking because the drain pipe was broken. I reported it and they just moved me again. 3rd room again only had boiling hot water and the lights were not working. Very poorley maintained rooms. Of the nine channels available on the tv, only 3 are watchable. On the plus side, the food is decent and beds are comfy. For 3,500sh i would expect this hotel to be better

The first day when we arrived at the Royal City Hotel Town Center at night a man was knocking and jumping and looking through the glass door (the door up is made of glass). Normally rooms at the hotel have numbers to call e.g. reception but our room didn`t have any number at the telephone to call. So we were just sitted there with fear until the man left.
When we booked they told us breakfast (buffet) starts from seven until ten o`clock. The third day at eight o`clock we got a call requesting us to go and have breakfast. Because of time difference and having a small child we didn`t expect them to call us to go and have breakfast at eight. When we went to the restaurant there was nothing. They didn`t have any food and when we asked they said they don`t have buffet because they didn`t have a lot of guests. Our accomodation included buffet, so there was no buffet and no money was given back.
Mostly every day we went for breakfast thed didn`t have enough food but they said they had a group of people that ate the food. So the normal guests where left with leftovers.
We were offered to go and swim at the sister Hotel Royal City Milimani. At the swimming pool some of the tiles inside the pool were broken and sharp. So one of us got a very big cut and the workers of the hotel didn`t do anything. Even after reporting we just got a first aid box that had some cottonwool and some liquid in a drinking plastic bottle. Nobody from the hotel offered first aid, they just brought the box and left it there.
The changing room at the hotel was very dirty. Another big problem was, that they only had one room for changing for males and females.
In our room at the Royal City Hotel Town Center we had problems with warm water. For a period of three days we didn`t have warm water and each day we reported at the reception but we didn`t get help.
The problem of getting leftover food and shower continued when we decided to checkout. That is when the manager came telling us to stay, they will look at the problem again. P.S.: ALL THE TIME WE HAVE BEEN STAYING AT THE HOTEL, IN THE MORNING THE MANAGER WAS ALWAYS AT THE RESTAURANT EATING AND NEVER SAID ANYTHING. To our surprise we found out that he was the manager when we wanted to check out.

All in all the workers at the hotel and restaurant are very kind and helpful. They do their best. Also the air condition works very well.
